Santa's finished

I put him together yesterday before heading to the hospital and didn't get chance to take a pic between that and bowls last night.
He's turned out so much better than the first one and isn't as plump which is good.

And since I'm posting here's this weeks Winter Wonderland update, I should be ready to start adding the beads this week

New weekend PHD

I thought it was about time I finished Caleb's Birth Sampler esp. as Teejay has arrived and I'm on the lookout for one to stitch for him.

So here how it started off on Saturday

And here's how it was Sunday evening when I finished.

And I've finished all the pieces for the Santa, those threads you can see will be used to put him together

Winter themed post

I've been working away on the travelling pattern this last week and should have it done this next week but I did take Wednesday off to work on my Winter Wonderland SAL.   I don't think it'll live to see the end of September.

And this is what's been on my beading mat for the last week or so, I'm hoping he'll be finished this week.

If you've been reading for a while and are sat there convinced you've seen this here before fear not you haven't lost the plot I made one back in 2010 only I don't get to keep this one

UFO RR finished

With finishing MW last weekend I had to find a new project for the weekends and I settled on tiger I sent out on the UFO RR late last year who came home almost done.
It kinda feels like cheating to have worked on this as a weekend project cause I knew he'd be done in a weekend but on the other hand if I didn't it could be a long, long time till he got finished.  And besides he fit's in with my goal of finishing projects that I started the year with.

So here's how he started out yesterday morning (its also how he come home after the UFO RR)

And here he is earlier this evening.

I have to admit I'm not very happy with the way the whiskers have turned out but otherwise he's lovely and I adore his nose!

Nicola Necklace finish

When I went to the bead fair a few weeks ago I fell in love with this necklace on Linda's stand and promptly bought the pattern.
I've been working on it on and off for the last few days and finished it today.

See those pearls round the centre well I had trouble finding those and in the end they were the only ones I could get but they were expensive, lucky for me Mum was with the day I bought them and went half's on them which made them not quite so painful to pay for!

It was a fun project and the necklace grew really quickly although it did get a bit boring to do after a while

Mary Wigham Happy Dance

I finished MW yesterday, yay
A quick reminder of how she started out in April

And here she is in all her creased glory :)

Close up of the changes I made

Yes I know a couple of the initials appear twice but I can't help it if my Mum and brother share the same ones or my eldest DD and me do.

I started Mary way back in 2009 when Needleprint offered her as a free design over a couple of months then she got ignored and put away in the drawer for a while until Pat and I started our Quaker Friday SAL and we both decided to work on our Mary's after a while.
A huge change in Pat's life meant we had to stop our SAL so Mary went back in the drawer until April this year when I finished Scary Book and decided that she was up next.

She's on BST from Sparklies and other than putting my own initials in she's stitched as charted

A finish & Teejay

A couple of days ago I finished my ornament for August apart from adding a hanger for it.

Yesterday Lucy moved house so I went down with DBF to help her and of course I had to take pics :)

Some beading

I've been working on my bead mat again this last week or so and I'm now caught up with my diamonds although I do have a few in the box to add still but they came from the next thing I worked on today and will get added at a later date.  I really couldn't face any more of them today!

So the next thing I worked on was a Reversible Rivoli pendant designed by Linda Richmond that been sat looking like this for about 2 months now waiting for me to get my arse into gear and stitch it together.

What held me up was not having soldered jump rings to turn it into a pendant and I couldn't get them locally so in the end I used a split ring (I don't like 'normal' jump rings and will avoid them if I can)
The sides stitched together look no different than they do above so here's a pic of the side instead :)

I picked my own colours for this one but do have the supplies list for other colourways so may well make more in the future

Updates

First up is last weeks progress on Winter Wonderland, it's getting there slowly

And Mary Wigham as you can see I've started on both the over one name and the initials which means I'm almost there.
You better get your dancing shoes dusted off ready for the weekend as she will be finished then

Finish Mary Wigham would be nice  No but she is much closer
Work on Mel's rose  Done but only for a couple of hours

For August I'd like to

Get at least 2 ornaments done
Get at least 2 Dragons done
Pick my next weekend project

An July I stitched for 91 hours 12 mins, had 5 new starts and 3 finishes and just one day of no stitching but I did bead at one of the beading groups I belong to so still had a needle in my hand.
