Meet Bert the Snowman

After I'd finished the Lighthouse I decided the time had come to give into Bert and get him made up into the handsome fella he is :)
He arrived as a kit from Oak Tree Crafts at least 12 months ago probably more like 2 years ago and has bided his time quietly (well most it).
He was such an easy make and if I ever get round round to getting more of the base componant of him I can see me making more.

Oh and in case your wondering he's a needlecase

Celtic Griffin HD

As you know this has been my staying at DBF's project all year and Friday evening I finished him :)
He came as a kit from Mill House Designs but I can't find a website unfortunately.
He's also my second Flippin' crazy challenge finish overall and this month!

Please excuse the wrinkles I took the pic when he was fresh off the frame

Beading Happy Dance

For the last year on and off I've been working on this box designed by Julia Pretl and have loved every bit of it (well almost every bit not very keen on doing the hem cause it almost always goes wrong!).
Anyway today I put the last beads on the lid and chalked up another beading finish for the year :)

I'm really, really happy to have it done and learnt alot even though it's my second attempt at a box.
It was started as a gift for someone but now it's done I'm not entirely sure I'm happy enough with it to give it :) and may just have to start another one in the hopes it's turns out better but I'll do a few more boxes for me before I decide as the birthday it was done for isn't for 12 months so I have time.

Ornament finish

This month I decided to got with a PHD for my ornament.
This is Christmas Kitty Moon from Stitchy Kitty  and I'm almost certain that I started it years ago when I took part in an ornament RR but for some reason I didn't finish it in the time allowed and set it aside.  It's also one of the 3 projects that I found last year when sorting out and the first of my flippin crazy challenge finishes for the year.

Rosie turned one yesterday so I thought I'd share a couple of pics of her that I took this afternoon in a rare moment of quiet

I'm brave enough

A few days ago Rhonda asked if anyone was brave enough to post a pic of the back of their work and I am (or should that be daft enough).
In general all my backs turn out something like this the only exception is a TW which as we all know have huge amounts of confetti stitching in them no matter the size.
So I decided I'd share the back of Sunflower Charms and Sunflower with you as those the ones closest to hand.

And since I was doing a post anyway I thought I'd share my progress from the weekend on Celtic Banner.
Most of time on it went on the border and trying to dispose of the frog that seems to have found a new home with me.
The bottom of the S is wrong and will have to come out for a second time, fingers crossed it's third time lucky when I come to restitch it.

Updates & a finish

First we have the last weeks worth of progress on Caleb's birth sampler, my hour a week UFO

Next we have this weeks progress on Mary Wigham.  I worked my way across the top of the blue motif but had quite a bad plague of frogs with it so not much to show for the hours I put in.

And lastly the finish :)
Sunflower from The Stitching Shed

It's much brighter IRL but I just don't seem to be able to capture it on a pic :(

It's that time of the month again so here's my ort jar.
This month we have orts from Celtic Banner, Celtic Griffin, Basket of Apples, UFO RR, Caleb's Birth Sampler, Mary Wigham, Joyful Summer, Sunflower Charms and various colours of KO from beading

If you remember last month I told you that I couldn't tell you what the pile of green was from as it was for my Mum for Mother's Day and she reads my blog.
Well if you didn't know already it's Mother's Day here in the UK today so I can share now

She loved it :)
