Novembers Gifted Gorgeousness

I'm quite literally scrapping in with a finish for GG this month!

I put the last stitches in this, whipped it off the frame, took a very quick piccie and jumped on the puter to write the post

Why does it qualify for GG?
The chart pack was my Birthday present this year off Lucy and it was also my Birthday start

I added my link with just 10 minutes to spare!  then came back to tell you that :)

Monday night (mostly) progress

I say mostly because I did a little bit today while at Mum's.

That wide band above the swan (at least I think it is) marks the end of part one and I'd say I'm about 1/3 done with part 2.

Next week is the last bowls of the year but I've decided I'll keep on working on this for a couple of hours on Monday to try and finish it before the end of the year

Snowman Parade completed

I tried again today to get pics of the completed ornament and although they didn't turn out fuzzy it is a bit dark :(
But here it is and I have to say it was great fun to make and at some point I'll make it again for me

Rosie again

I was planning to show you the completed ornament from yesterday's post but they all turned out fuzzy inc the one of Rosie checking all was OK with it!

So instead have another pic of her to look at

Snowman parade ornament

A couple of months ago a post appeared on the local Facebook group about a teenage girl who is sick and wanted to raise money for Alder Hey children's hospital.
She was planning to organise a Christmas party and was asking for help.
I offered to make an ornament as a raffle prize and my offer was accepted.

It's not finished yet because I had to wait for the bead fair today to get the facets needed but here it is so far

Monday night progress

I'm almost at the end of part one now but have to admit that it's had a little more attention this last week than just Monday evening.
It's seen a little progress in the hospital while I waited for Mum to have her physio and a little more while I waited at the Docs

WIP Wednesday

I had to move the frame so thought I'd share a pic

I think I'm in with a decent chance of finishing the border this week never mind just getting across the bottom

Major happy dance time

At 11.30 pm last night I put the last stitch into CdC and just in case your wondering it was the one in the top right corner :)

Started on Jan 1st 2011 and left in the PHD drawer for most the time until August 3rd when it became my weekend project.

I'd seen lots of these done on dark fabric with colourful thread and I wanted to be a little different so went with bright fabric (Opal sunflowers from Sparklies) and black thread.

TUSAL Time

Yes right folks it's time to post pictures of rubbish once more and for the first time all year I'm on time!! Please don't fall off your seat in shock.

First my stitching orts and I've added ones from the family tree sampler, CdC, snowman, mini poppies and my Monday night freebie since last time

And my beading orts
It was lovely to use black thread for a change and although you can't see it there is some apple green in there as well unfortunately I'm back to white thread

If after all this time you have no idea what the TUSAL is all about click here

Family sampler progress

My aim for this week was to get to the bottom of this one and not only did I do that but I've made a small start on the bottom of the border and the flowers along the bottom of the centre panel

Overall it's looking like this now

Next week I'd like to make it all the way across the bottom at the very least but would love to finish the border completely

Weekend progress

I finished the last bit of the large circle. got 2 more full circle done as well as lots of smaller ones last weekend

And as you can see I'm very close to finishing it completey

I'd love to be able to say it'll be finished this weekend but it's unlikely to happen which is a shame as I would of loved to have it done to take to Harrogate knitting and Stitching with me to show it off on Sparklies stand

Family Sampler update

I'm back on this one now after a break and still fed up with it but the sooner I finish the sooner I get paid and can move onto the stuff I want to do!

I never got round to posting my progress in mid October so here it is

And after last week it looks like this, not huge amounts of progress and I did have a very busy week last week so reduced stitching time

I'm hoping that this week I'll be able to reach the bottom with the border

Carriage update

The sides are complete I do have a little more to do on the top but wanted to stiffen the sides before I did that

So I started on the insert,  I've got another 6 rows to do on this which I should get done tomorrow

The next (and currently last ) carriage has been released and mine is well underway.
This one is the goods carriage, next week threadabead are releasing the goods to go in it.

I'm almost to the top of it now but it has a smaller version that sits inside in which I will hopefully be able to start tomorrow

This years bead mat

I haven't been keeping this as upto date as I'd like this year and have a list of colours I need to add to it that's going to get longer rather than shorter over the next few weeks but once I've done the Christmas gifts I'll get stuck into it and hopefully it won't take me to long to get it done

Monday night progress

After a couple of weeks off from indoor bowls I was back there last night and made a little bit of progress

Monday, November 06, 2017

Weekend progress

Cdc made an appearance at the weekend again and I managed to almost fill the huge circle in centre.

I'm hoping I'll be finished this month, keep your fingers crossed for me it would be lovely to cross this one off the list

New start

After finishing the snowman yesterday I made a start on another kit from my stash.
It's another from Heritage crafts this time one of the mini floral 's by John Clayton and with it being November it seemed fitting.

It's growing quickly this is 2 days and around 8 1/2 hours of stitching.

As much as I'm enjoying it tomorrow it's going away for a while :( I'll be working on CdC over the weekend and back to the sampler on Monday

Snowman finish

Silly me forgot to pick up the chart for CdC when packing on Friday for the retreat but lucky for me I had plenty of other projects with me.

I started this little guy on Friday night and finished him this afternoon.
He's an oldish kit from Heritage crafts that I've had in my stash for a few years.

I switched the kit fabric to lilac ice from sparkles.

October progress & November goals

For October I said
Get CdC almost finished.  I've not done to badly with it and would of done better had I remembered to bring the chart with me!!
Get the model at least half done.   I'm there but haven't managed to post an up to date pic for a couple of weeks!
Decide on my stitching for the retreat.  Done and I almost have a finish
Make a flower. Not
Sell some stash. Done

For November I'd like to
Finish the model
Finish CdC
Another finish would be nice
Sell some stash
Post everyday

I stitched for 110 hours 47 minutes during October helped by being on a stitching retreat the last few days of the month.  I had 2 new starts and 1finish during the month and stitched every day.
