This week's stitching

After finishing Pie on Monday I at last started my Birthday present off the girls, one gave me the chart the other gave me the silks :)

Meet Northern Expressions Union Jack
I'm using the called for Dinky Dyes silks and a piece of 36 ct light sand linen that was just the right size

And then on Friday I started Ink Circles Croakworth, Pat and I are SALing once more :)

LK Boxer finish

Last week I decided it was time to finish Pie off from the Lizzie Kate Sweet Tooth Junior boxers.
Last time it appeared on a post it only had the border but I'd also done the brown inner border although that wasn't on the pic.
I spent all last week on it and by Friday evening it looked like this, I could of finished it on Saturday but really wanted to get on with my postbox :)

An hour or so on Monday night once I got home from bowls and it was finished

2 down 2 to go

Weekend progress

I said last week that I needed to get at least half of what was left to do done if I was to stand a chance of finishing In The Post this month and woohoo I did it.  Mind you a weekend of no plans, F1 and Unforgettable to catch up on helped along the way :)

As you can see I just have to finish the top of the post box and finish the back stitch

Christmas in July beading

One of the beading group I'm in on Facebook is having a Christmas in July beadalong with the emphasis on 3d stars.
I learnt how to make them back in 2010 and everyone got one that year for their ornament you can see them here here and here
The group has several patterns in the files so I took look through and did this one first in the called for colours and I love it :)

Next I did this one the pattern called for green and white but as you can see I went for red and gold

Then I decided that I wanted to stay with the Christmas in July theme but have a change so I dug this out my stash  St Nick needlecase from Oak Tree Crafts

pardon the expression but here's St Nick's bottom :)

Tomorrow I'll be starting star number 3 just as soon as I decide which pattern to use and what colour to do it in

Updates

Last week after finishing the Sunflower Panel I spent a couple of days on Alchemical Romance and completed 4 1/2 symbols so now have both bottom corners and I'm not too far off being half done.

And then of course I spent Saturday and Sunday with In The Post, not quite as much progress as I would of liked but it's not the end of the world and I have no plans this weekend and F1 to entertain me :) so fingers crossed I can get roughly half of what's left done (now I've said that alsorts of things will pop up to stop me stitching!)

And an overall view of it

July's Gifted Gorgeousness

Gifted Gorgeousness is hosted by the lovely Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching and the idea is to use all those charts/ kits/ threads/ etc that have been gifted to us over the years instead of leaving them sitting in our stash feeling unloved, shoehorning is also permitted :)

As ever my GG post is all about my progress on In The Post :)  the kit was my Christmas present off Fella in 2014 and started in Jan 2015 but it was put aside to do a couple of paid pieces so it became a weekend project his year and I'm well on my way to finishing it :)

So last weekend I started off by filling in the right hand edge of the design before moving on to the collection times panel and backstitching the post box as much as I could

And overall it's looking like this now

If I'm to meet my goal of finishing it this month I better pull my socks up for the next 3 weekends!

Happy dance time :)

Sunflower panel is finished :)

This was my Jan 1st start in 2015 and got put aside for the fruit and Lake District sampler.  I pulled it out earlier this year and have worked on it on and off since then, I had hoped to finish it yesterday afternoon but ran out of time before I had to go bowling so an hour once I got home again saw it finished and crossed off the PHD list :)

A new Round Robin

When I went on the stitching week to Scarbrough in May the topic of Round Robins came up and we decided we'd do one.

I went with a theme of Dragons for mine (hands up who's not surprised) and once I finished Tea I set about setting mine up and getting my square done.
I've used a Sparklies Solitaire, good old DMC and some krenick

After a root round my stash I came up with Dragon Dreams Virtue freebies from 2002, as long as I took the title off it was the perfect size for the square :)
So this one is Friendship and I subbed the DMC for the scales and claws with #4 braid and the smoke with Ombre because I could :)

And I've gone back to my Sunflower panel now that my RR is sorted (and I've just realized I've not posted about it!!)
No bowls on Friday next week so I might just manage to finish it :)

Yes folks it's time once more for stitching bloggers across the land to post pic's of their rubbish :)

My Cheshire Show entry

The Cheshire show took place on June 21 & 22 this year and as has become normal I entered :)
The theme this year was Holiday time and the class I enter had a theme of among my souvenirs well I don't know about you but I always come back with a stick of rock or two so it made sense to make the Brighton Rock Necklace  from Katie Dean

As you can see I got a second place :) :) :) scoring 19 out of 20

I also made the clasp which wasn't part of the pattern

In the Post progress

Yes I know it's been a couple of weeks since I last shared progress with you but I'm here now :)

The first weekend I missed on purpose, I'd spend most of the weekend finishing off Tea so only managed a few lengths and it wasn't worth sharing and last week I just never got round to taking a pic until yesterday!  But at least I took one and here it is :)

June progress & July goals

For June I said
Finish the Sunflower panel    Not touched it :(
Finish the model    Done and returned
It would be nice to finish In The Post    No but's much closer than it was
Keep making hexie flowers and snowflakes   I've only managed a couple :(
Keep selling stash   Several items have found new homes

For July I'd like to
Finish In The Post
Finish the Sunflower panel
Start the Union jack design of my Daughters
Sell some stash

I stitched for 78 hours 30 minutes in June, had one new start and 2 finishes one of which was the new start and I stitched every day even tho I had spend almost all my time on the Dove farm banners and then my Cheshire show entry.

Current PHD total = 28
