TUSAL time

Yes folks that's right it's time to post pics of rubbish again :)

Just in case yuo don't know what the the TUSAL is all about you can either click on the box in the right hand side bar or you can click here both will take you to the same place.

This month I've added orts from Hill House, Daffs, Art Deco Sunrise, Cheeky Dolphin card, thread bear and lots of sewing cotton.

And my beading one not much added to it this time as I'm plodding on with Cheshire Show entries and one of them I'm not feeling the love for so avoid working on it with is daft because the end is in sight and I do have a deadline for it!

Stitch from Stash May report

I carried on with Sun Sampler last week and here's how far I got with it.
The pic looks a bit washed out because the sun decided to put in an appearance as I took it but you get the idea :)

And since I'm here and posting my weekend progress on Art Deco Sunrise, not bad for just one day's stitching over the bank holiday weekend.

And my SFS report........

April 27 - May 27

New starts from Stash = 2, Sun Sampler and the Dolphin card in my last post
PHD's worked on = Daffodils, Hill House (finished),  Art Deco Sunrise and Thread Bear got an hour one evening when I couldn't face the daffs anymore!
£ spent = a big fat 0, woohoo
Budget left = £91.60, £71.60 carried forward and £20 for May.

I've sold a few kits this month as well, ones that I know I'll never do now that my girls are grown up so my stash has shrunk a little more which is good and the £ from them is going towards a set of drawers I want for storage so I'm a little bit closer to getting them now :)

But my chart stash grew a bit, last month I was the lucky winner of one of the monthly prize's, a complete set of CCN Monthly cottages.  I've often thought of buying the set in the past but never quite got round to it, now I know why :)

Couple of finishes

Yesterday it was my fella's birthday so I stitched him a card.   It's an old Cross Stitcher cover kit that I discovered lurking in my stash when I looked through it last week for my birthday start.

And I made him a set of pillowcases as well.
I had to unpick part of the first one because I made a mistake but I'd never made them before so it's allowed :)

Fella was very happy with both items :)

IHSW weekend

I signed up for IHSW again this month and remembered to post about it!

Not much to say really, my before pic is the same as last weeks after pic and here's my progress.
I'm almost at the bottom now and fingers crossed that'll happen this weekend

Shopping Bag

A few weeks back when I went to the fabric shop to pick up more fabric for frame covers they had a bag out on display with a little sign saying make me for £5.75.  While I liked the bag and was tempted to have a go I didn't like that it was made in oil cloth which meant I couldn't fold it up and put it in my bag :(  so I decided to make it out of normal every day cotton fabric.
Today I got round to it and while it's far from perfect I'm really happy with how it turned out and as my Mum said when she saw it this evening that won't matter because folks will be far to busy looking at the fabric!

This week's stitching

This week was focus week and I've made pretty good progress with the Daffs.
I got most of the bottom left hand petal done and a bit of back stitch on the stems, I'm hoping next time round I'll get the petal finished

Yesterday was my Birthday so I had my traditional Birthday start.
This year it's Sun Sampler from M Designs, I was RAKed with the chart years ago so it's about time I stitched it!

And I started a new beading project as well.
This is Leo's Birdhouse and for now much progress won't be made on it as I'm busy with Cheshire Show entries which is why no beading has appeared for a while :( but I do have some to share that I finished months ago and forgot to post but they can wait a day or two yet

Coasters

Over the weekend fella and I went to a craft fair in the village and while we were wandering round I saw some coasters on one of the stalls and I was curious about how they were made so I came home and googled, as you do :)

I found several tutorials for them this was the version I'd seen at the craft fair but after a little more poking around I found this one which is done in the same way but with triangles and I think it's nicer but I'm going to try the square ones as well.

I knew I had a part used charm pack in my fabric stash that I was given a while ago and so decided that I'd use that for them and here they are :)
The one on the left is the first one and IRL it shows!  with the second one I thought a little more about how I put the triangle on the base and it's turned out much better.
After a quick press they have been in use all day and of course being fabric it means they can get chucked in the washer when the need arises

Fella has already mentioned making a set as a wedding present for his nephew so they have something to open instead of just having a voucher for the local fishing shop!

Last weeks progress

Last week was Daffs week but I really didn't get much done on it but all progress counts.
I found that some nights I struggled with it and I don't know if that was because I was distracted with Mum being in hospital or if it's the over one so on those nights I picked up Hill House.
I guess next week I'll find out which it is

I forgot to post my after pic from the weekend last week so here it is as a before pic for this last weekend :)

And the after pic

Mum has developed Cellulitis in her arms from the canula but she's doing OK and it's getting better, fingers crossed she'll be home tomorrow

April progress & May Goals

For April I said
Finish Birds & Bees  Done
Pick a new focus project  Done
Finish Funky Merry Christmas  Done
Pick a new Weekend project  Done
Keep stitching from stash  Done

For May I'd like to
Get Art Deco Sunrise half done
Decide on my Birthday start
Keep stitching from stash

In April I stitched for 69 hours 38 minutes.  I had 1 new start and 2 finishes and I stitched every day

Mum is doing OK, thank you for all good thoughts for her.   Turns out she has an ulcer :( which has probably been caused by the stress of dealing with the estate of the our relative that passed away in Saudi last year.  She's still in hospital and has a new friend that has to go everywhere with her while she's there (her drip) so she's called it Rover :)

Current PHD total = 30

TUSAL time

Please excuse the hurried nature of my TUSAL post this month but my Mum has been admitted to hospital tonight and I've not long got home from there but wanted to get this up before I go to bed
