Beading finishes

After I'd done my 'test' cube I went on to make myself a pair of earrings.

I'm in the mood to bead Christmas ornaments rather than stitch them so I pulled out my Jill Oxton's and made a stocking

And just show it's a proper stocking and not just one side

Happy Dance

I've been working on this on and off since Jan and finished it last night.
Please excuse the wrinkles, I did run the iron over it and it looks just fine IRL but not it seems on camera!

TUSAL part 2 & progress

I spent most of the weekend at DBF's and even remembered to take a pic of my TUSAL jar there.
All that's been added to it is alot of pink from the Peony I'm working on when I'm there.

Since I had my camera with me for the TUSAL I thought I'd take a quick pic of said Peony

And not being home much meant that Mary didn't get much attention this week but she did a little bit of love

Happy Birthday Rosie

Rosie is 2 today.
Happy Birthday my insane little pussy cat

Go look here to see her the day she came to live with us.
I took this one yesterday ready for this post

She had to sniff the camera while I took pics and I couldn't resist taking one while she did, makes me smile every time I look at it.

Beading bits and pieces

In the last week beading wise I've.......

Made some diamonds for my bead mat but haven't added them to it yet

Made a square using instructions from Diane Fitzgerald's Shaped Beadwork which my Parents gave me for my birthday last year and I've only just made something from it!!

I made the square because you need 6 of them to make a cube but I decided to reverse the colours to make the cube.
Now I've made one and know what I'm doing I'm planning on making a pair in different colours to make a pair of earrings

Then I pulled out a box that had projects in it from when I used to go to a weekly class at least 6/7 years ago.  Most of the things in there I can't see me ever finishing them so I wove the threads in and have kept them as samples.
This netted collar was in there as well and I've put off doing anything with for years now because my taste has changed colour wise and the design calls for it to be a full collar and that's not something I'd ever wear.  So I decided to finish the repeat the was half done and finish the end off so it matched the other.  Maybe one day I'll decided how to finish it off so it's wearable.

Here's a closer pic of the design.

The only other project in the box to finish is an angel who's been flying round in circles since the day I worked on her as she only has one wing!

Happy Dance

That's right it's time to put your dancing shoes on Scary Book is finished :)

I started on Jan 1 2009 and finished on April 9 2012.
I used 30 count murano and DMC floss and I loved every stitch of it

Now I know this is a really, really long shot but has any one out there got any of the Pocket Dragon kits and would be willing to lend me the chart for it???
Years ago I saw a couple of them and didn't get them and now it's one of those things I really regret.
There were 4 in the set Maid Marian, Will Scarlet, Writing to you and Sweets

Sunflower finish

I found this design a while ago while surfing round some beading sites but can't for the life of me remember where it was to share a link but it's a freebie that much I do remember.
I had to wait for my local bead shop to get some of the Delica's in for me before I could start it which I did on April 1st.
The last beads went on this morning not yesterday as I hoped, it took much longer than I thought it would

4 Seasons update

I've been making good progress on the 4 seasons sampler from last years JCS lately.
I know I should put it down and move on to other projects during the week but I'm enjoying it so much I'm tempted to carry on.

P.S The stitching is straight it's me that's useless at taking pics

Beading bits and pieces

First up is March'e progress on my beaded CdC AKA the mad idea

Sometime last year I was looking round Spellbound Beads site and came across instructions for a beaded mat and thought it was a great idea and I'd have to try one.
Then I had the idea (I really should stop doing that, it's not good!) that I could do one as a record of the colours I've used during the year so waited until this year to start.
Then I wondered how I'd remember what year it was from and eventually came up with putting the year in the central diamonds.   Good plan only I couldn't get it to work no matter how hard I tried and how many different fonts I used it just wasn't having it.   I had a light bulb moment of using Roman Numerals instead and after some more playing about with a design programme and some brick stitch graph paper I cracked it.

And here's the result.
I've decided that I'm not going to do the diamonds until I've finished a project and I'm only going to do one diamond in the really expensive colours (like the gold ones).   So far the only colours in there are the ones from the badges and Mum's Mother's Day present but I do have more to add.

And lastly I started a new project.  I found this freebie on the web somewhere and now can't find it again so I'm really glad I saved it!

It's a Sunflower BTW and this pic is old and out of date now but I've not taken a new one yet
