And my beading orts, all that white at the top is Fireline from the box I'm working on

Stitch from Stash March update

I thought I'd save my progress on Birds & Bees for this post.
I had hoped to get it finished last week but it turned out to be a very busy week and a on a couple of days I only got a few minutes in on it but it's not the end of the world that I didn't and there's always this next week

On to the reason for the post my Stitch from Stash update.

March turned out to be a boring month really, I didn't spend a penny or start anything new from stash but I did finish a couple.

February 27 - March 27
New starts from Stash =0
PHD's worked on = Happy Holidays, Winter Wingding (both finished), Birds & Bees, Thread Bear and Funky Merry Christmas
£ spent = Zero
Budget left = £54.60.  £34.60 carried forward + £20 for March

IHSW weekend

With finishing Winter Wingding last weekend I had to start a new weekend project on Saturday and this one had been talking to me most of the week so I went with it.

My Birthday start from last year, Funky Merry Christmas.   I didn't get much done at all with having to do those blooming fairies and The Zoo so it pretty much got left after I'd started it.
Please excuse the bad light, it was taken early on Saturday morning

By Sunday evening it looked like this.
If I can keep up the same rate of stitching I'll be done in a couple of weeks!

On Saturday I went to Nuneaton for the Needlecraft Haven spring meet up and didn't take my camera with me but you can find pics of the day here, here and here

More bookmarks

Last year when Mum and I went to Halfpenney's for a class we bought the kit for these bookmark's between us, we both loved the design but nether of us wanted 2 of them so it made sense.
This last week I've made them both up, Mum had the pink version

And I had the red version

I've also made a Cluckie to put on a bookmark for the Needlecraft Haven Spring gtg today as a raffle prize.

Yesterday Lorraine from Oak Tree Crafts came up to the Thursday beading group I go to for a class.
I got most of mine finished yesterday and an hour or so today saw it finished off.

This is A Stitch in Time scissor keep

Updates

Well here we are on Wednesday once more and I'm only just getting round to posting my progress from last/ weekend!

Last week I choose to work on Thread Bear and hoped to get the basket completed which I did and I still had a day or so left so I went on to the wall and floor as well

Sunday morning I finished Winter Wingding, I had hoped to finish it on Saturday night but I was so tired I kept nodding off as I stitched so I had to put it down with just one square to fill

And on Sunday afternoon I decided it was high time I finished this little canvas work project off that's been sat round half done for I don't know how long.
It should of been a bookmark but I really didn't fancy stitching another 2 squares so I made it into a fob instead which is probably going to end up on my fabric scissors

Church finish

When I saw the pattern for this in Jill Oxton's Cross Stitch and Beading #84 it spoke to me and I had to do it.
I started it on Jan first last year thinking I could enter it in the Cheshire Show but it wasn't to be and I lost interest in it for several months until last week when I picked it up once more and did the last of the beading on it.
I already knew I wasn't going to bead the tree's as I had a go at them at some point last year and was very unhappy with them and we have a model shop here in town so I went the lazy route and bought one.
I also invested in a bag of rough pasture and some hedging and here's the result of my labours over the last 10 days, you know what it's like waiting for paint, varnish and glue to dry.

Please excuse the washed out colour on this first pic of the front, the flash went off and the other one's were fairly dark and it is level it was me taking the pics that wasn't!   The colours are more accurate in the other pics.

Going Anti clockwise, side 1

Side 2

And from above.

It's far from perfect (I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to beading) but I'm really happy with how it turned out in the end.
I just wish I could of found some tiny gravestones at the model shop as the finishing touch

Beading

The week before I came down with the chest infection I worked on my Dragon Robe again.
Here's how it looked last time I shared an update.

I've had the kit for this little guy hanging around for I don't know how long and this week after a couple of other projects didn't go right I decided it was time to do him.
I'd always planned to put him on a bookmark so I could start a collection of them just because I can :)

A friend at WI is coming to the end of her treatment for breast cancer this next week and I won't see her so last week I gave her this brooch as an end of treatment gift

Debbie's prize

You may remember that back in December I hit a milestone of 10 years of blogging and did a giveaway to celebrate.
That giveaway was won by Debbie and here's what I sent here eventually.
The purple thingie on the right is a Q snap cover, every time I read Debbie's blog and she's posted a pic there's almost always a cover on the frame so I figured she could use another :)

I had another design in mind for her but I couldn't find it so it took me a while to settle on something else and it was Special Stitcher by Elizabeth Design's.
I made it into a pin keep and used a white velvet round the edge and to make the loop

And a beaded needlecase

Debbie has posted some really good pics on her blog, use the link above if you want to take a look

Progress

I made a lot of progress on Birds and Bees last week thanks to the chest infection and I would of made more had we not had a power cut Friday evening from 7 pmish to gone 3 am.
There's a small chance it'll be finished when it's worked on again next week but it's not set in stone and it will be done the time after that for sure.

And Winter Wingding which will be finished this weekend

Weekend progress

I spent the first half hour of my stitching time on Saturday doing the last bit of back stitch on Happy Holidays for the TW Tinies SAL.
I had hoped to finish it Friday night but I was way too tired and worn out with having another chest infection that I just couldn't do it.

Happy Holidays
Cross Stitch Monthly Oct 1989

And Winter Wingding progress of course one of the upsides of having a chest infection is that you get worn out easily and your chest hurts of you try to do pretty much anything so what do you do with your time?
A - Read alot
B - Stitch more
C - Nap
D - All of the above

I'm thinking I might be done in a couple of weekends because if I've counted right I've got 14 squares and the border left to do and no plans for the next couple of weekends

And my beading orts from Dragon Robe, Cross, Swanson Scissor keep, Frosty Fancy, Butterfly bracelet and I've probably missed something out.
