1 day 2 finishes

As you know Wednesday is lace class/group and for the last few weeks I've been working on this little thingie, today I finished it.  The thread I used is a little thick and it has it's flaws but I'm really pleased with the result.

Last October I took a class for a Ribbon necklace and I've been working on it on and off since then.  I kinda stalled on it when I couldn't get some of the crystals for the fringe so in the end decided that I was fed up enough of it hanging around almost done that I went with something else.

This doesn't give you much of an idea of the colours in it but if you scroll down a couple of posts and take a look at the Triangle bracelet you'll get the idea.

Jo tune in sometime over the next couple of days for your answer :)

Triangle class HD

I finished the Triangle bracelet this afternoon, it took me 2 hours to put the clasp on this afternoon as my arm is bad again :(  Luckily I'd finished the rest of it last week but I had to wait for the clasp to come in stock at the bead shop

Weekend Stitching

With being at the Get Together on Saturday I didn't work on Celtic Banner.
Well I took it with me and had it all set up to work on when I spotted a mistake and I wasn't in the mood to frog it right then so I put it away again.
So I worked on Joyful Summer instead.

I spent Saturday night and a good chunk of Sunday at DBF's so Celtic Griffin got some attention.

I spent Sunday evening on Celtic Banner and after frogging the mistake I almost got the 4 boxes finished.

For a few weeks now I've had the nagging doubt that the fabric wasn't long enough so this morning I layed it out on the floor and got the tape measure out.
I was almost right, I'm going to 1/2" left at the end so I'm thinking I'll miss out the backstitch border a little further down as that will give me another 1/2" of space at the bottom for finishing.

This weeks crafting

I spent 3 hours on Caleb's birth sampler this week although you wouldn't think so.
I discovered that I had missed a line out in the pale blue and so had to frog the pale blue and the line around it and restitch it :(

I've made another couple of bells, the one on the left is made with 6mm crsytals, the one on the right with 4mm crystals

And I have an almost happy dance with my triangle bracelet, I'm still waiting for the clasp to come in stock at the bead shop

Sunday Part 2 (pic heavy)

The afternoon saw us at Stapeley Water Gardens and in The Palms Tropical Oasis

The scene that greets you when you walk in that building at the far end houses a fountain and there are pics further down.

Piranha

This scorpion really does glow in the dark, they have him in a viv under a ultra violet light to show it

Blind Cave Fish

I have no idea what this flower is but it's really cool

I got to play about with the settings on my camera and use some of the functions for the first time esp the one for glass and leaf mode :)

Baby Sheep!! (pic heavy)

Mel, DBF and I went off to Reaseheath today for Lambing weekend today

We had been stood beside a pen in the main barn watching this Ewe on and off for about 10 minutes and while we were talking about another Ewe she gave birth!

We hung around for another 30 mins or so as she was carrying triplets and the others had to appear soon.
While we watched she started with the second one but something was wrong and the lamb wasn't appearing so a student jumped in and helped her give birth.

This lamb showed no sign of life so they set to work to try and save it

Unfortunately after trying for several minutes the lamb didn't respond and it was quietly moved to the back of the pen and covered up :(
The older guy is the boss and he told about another lamb in a small pen off to the side that had also been born showing no signs of life but had responded and with a little TLC was doing extremely well.

Because Mum still had one lamb to go she was caught and helped with #3 just in case

It's a girl and boy was she loud

A few of yesterday's arrival's having a lunch time nap

We got to hold a very special lamb.
This one was born a few weeks ago (story in the link above) and is very rare as it has two different fleece's!!

Just to prove it :)

We went on to another local place after lunch but this post is long enough so I'll post about that tomorrow
