Help me pick

A new round of the UFO RR is about to start and I need to decide what project I'm going to send around this time.
I was going to send out Smile of An Elf Maiden again but there's a page missing of the chart and it would appear the designers are no longer around so I can't contact them to get a replacement.
So here are the options

Cross My Heart's Dragon
Silver Lining's Orchids for Cole
Shepherd's Bush Toy Gatherer
TW Egyptain Sampler
L&L Angel of the Morning
And lastly Celtic Cross.

Celtic Cross has been out before and part of me says I could easily finish it by the end of the year myself and part says but if you send it out it's a dead cert that the group will have at least one finish which is always a boost to the group.

Snowman Finished

I finished the snowman yesterday morning, wooohooo my first 3D thing in beading :)
He has his flaws (mostly my really bad stitching together but I learnt alot and will do better with the santa) but I'm really please with how he's turned out.
He is standing on his own it just looks like he's leaning on Mel's shoulder

And just in case you don't remember what he look like from behind go here

Quackworth Happy Dance

I put the last few stitches in this morning as it seemed a bit pointless to put it away for a week when there was only half a motif to go.
I think the plan for our Friday SAL now is to go onto our Mary Wigham's as we both started it last year when part one was released but both Pat and I put it down for other projects.

Rosie

I've not shared pics of Rosie since the day she came to live with us so here are a few things she's been up to the last few weeks

Played with Millie's ears

Played with the monkey that Mel brought home from her holiday for Caleb and has now claimed as her's

Made a habit of showing the world her tummy (yes she really sleep's like that)

And just this evening she tried to help Mel play Spyro

Blu asked yesterday if the snowman is 3D and yes he is, once both sides are done I'll stitch them together fill with lead shot (cause I can't find steel shot locally) and a little stuffing

Almost there

First is this weeks progress on Quackworth. I'm sorry about the bad pic but I forgot to take one in daylight so had to use my stitching light for it so it's not the best.

And this morning I finished the back of the snowman (I'll be doing the Santa next)

WOW I did something for Halloween

This is the first and probably only time you'll ever see something for Halloween appear on my blog so make the most of it.

A very dear friend of mine is very much into Halloween and last year I came across this little guy and knew I had to make it for her and although it would be late for the time of year it was to be her Christmas present. Life happened for both of us and until this evening the opportunity to hand him over hadn't appeared.
I think the general idea is that you use them as phone charms but as she is a reader I thought that a bookmark was a much better choice

I've got the Snowman (what a surprise, lol) waiting in the wings for me and I'm planning on attaching him to a bookmark as well

Couple more SOLAK sqaures

I've finally got round to scanning the other couple of squares I did for SOLAK at the start of the month.

I didn't spot the bit of fluff until after I'd uploaded the pic :(

Edgar's Mystery Giveaway revealed

Back in May on my birthday I decided to do a giveaway but had no idea what it was going to be!!
Edgar was lucky enough to get picked out by Caleb (or unlucky enough depending on your point of view given it was still a mystery even to me what I was giving away).
I had it in the back of my mind that I had this fabulous US fabric that I wouldn't mind using in the finishing then this Quaker heart started popping up on blogs all over the place and I knew that was the one.
Now believe it or not I finished stitching it on July 4 but it took me a month to get round to finishing it (but I did go away for 2 weeks)

I used an oddment of 32 count Platinum Lugana and Weeks Turkish Red, Snowflake and Americana.

Being the idiot that I am I completely forgot to take a pic of the other goodies I included so wander over to this post to see them.

Lastly could you all send Caleb some healing vibes please. On Monday he tripped over the cat and broke his wrist :( so will be in a cast for the next 3 weeks

Beading finish

I fell in love with this guy years ago when I first of all got my hands on Issue 66 of Jill Oxton's Cross Stitch and Beading but it took me until earlier this year to get the beads together for him.
I picked the last ones up at the bead fair back in May on my birthday and started him a few days later. He got put aside for a while as I worked on a gift for a friend but that's come to a standstill for the time being until I can get to a different bead shop to pick up more of the one I've run out of. So he came back out a few days ago and I finished him this morning.

I'm thinking of starting either this or this next ready for Christmas

Celtic Banner update

I got into quite a groove with this last week and I'm really pleased with my progress. You get a much better idea of the fabric this time I *think* it's Lt Mocha Cashel well I know it's Cashel it's the colour I'm not sure of!
I've even worked out why I fell out of love with it and it was because of all the fabric getting in the way whenever I worked on it because at the time I didn't have my floor stand so rarely used a scroll frame so it was on my Q snaps and was a pain in the neck to deal with but I now know about covers so it's no longer a problem.

I'm thinking that if I can get at least a couple of the smaller bands done each month I could be finished this year, keep your fingers crossed for me :)

Jo asked how much more I had left to do and I'm down to just under half of it to go

TUSAL

I'm late again posting my TUSAL this month but I'll bet I'm not the only one :)
This time round there's orts from Celtic Banner, several SOLAK squares, Kaleidoscope, Quackworth, 2 Silly Snowquakes, ABC Christmas and plenty of Nymo and Fireline from beading projects.

Something old, something new

Pat finished her Mary Busby a couple of weeks ago and we already had out next SAL project picked out, Ink Circles Quackworth.
Yesterday was the day to make a start and I'm quite pleased with the amount I got done. I think this one's going to be a quick stitch.

Today I pulled out Celtic Banner to work on for a while, here's where it was and 1/2 hr later I'd frogged the 3 bits bottom left!
I last worked on this for any length of time back in June 2005 although it did make a very brief apperance in April 2009. It's been a PHD for at least 6 years now so it's about time I thought about getting it finished don't you think.

SOLAK Finishes

I took a good choice of design's I could stitch for SOLAK on holiday with me last month and I went for these 2 first.
The yellow one ended up being put aside for a while and I had planned to finish him by the end of the month but went to watch a Victorian Music Hall production instead (had a blast by the way and if you ever get the chance to go to one, jump at it).

Going back and finishing off the yellow guy got me back in the mood for them so I carried on and did another couple but they can wait until tomorrow :)

July progress & August goals

For Juy I said

Get Edgar's prize stitched and sent It's stitched but not made up so obvious not sent either
Stitch an ornament I did 2
Square a day on Nova Let's not even go there
Maybe finish something I finished Triangularity

For August I'd like to

Get Edgar's prize made up and sent
Stitch an ornament
Start my new Friday SAL project
Work on Nova
Get at least one more SOLAK square done (I'm still behind)

July wasn't to bad a month for me time wise considering that for 2 weeks I was away and busy so not much stitching time to be had.
In total I stitched for 75 hours 5 minutes, had 5 new starts and 5 finishes and I think I had one day of no stitching at all but my diary is downstairs and I'm to lazy to go and look!

Current PHD# = 38 (would of been 37 had I not gone out last night)
