Quaker Row update

Yesterday's progress consisted of the alphabet, finishing the top right motif and the bird.
Apologies for the slightly wonky pic, Millie has taken to lying on top of the scanner and it's not easy to lift the lid with a cat on it!

I had hoped to get more of it done yesterday but I spent the bulk of the being a taxi and sat around waiting at appointments for Mum (one advantage is that I made good progress on a pair of socks) so I didn't really get to sit down with it until mid evening. If I had got more time on it I think I may of been HDing next week but there's 3 motifs and the rest of the alphabet to do it's not looking good.

Living with Charm update

I've spent the last few days working on it and I'm quite pleased with my progress. I've worked out that if I do two words a month I'll be done in April and I'll be able to cross another WIP off the list

I've done Listen, Learn & the line under Give this time round. I'm off to start an exchange piece now so I won't be sharing anything until Saturday when it's Quaker Row update time

It's Saturday so that means.....

It's Quaker Row update time :) I think I made pretty good progress over all yesterday and I'm thinking that maybe another 2 Friday's and I'll be done

Next week I'm going to make a start on the alphabet, I've decided that I am going to go with a different colour but I'm not sure what yet. I'm leaning towards a red (maybe 814) but Mel thinks I should go with a lighter shade of blue, I'll ask Mum what she thinks on Monday when I go down, never thought to take colour options with me yesterday

Celtic Banner won

My desire to get it finished this year won in the end but Angel of the Morning will get worked on this year as well

I've mostly done the border this time which is why there's a mess of thread at the side

Meet new start #3

Cross Eyed Kat's Triangularity

I'm using a Sparklies Solitaire but what doesn't show in the scan is the sparkle it has although the fabric colour is pretty accurate
Now I'm trying to decide which of my old WIPs I should work on next. I'm planning on finishing my Celtic Banner this year anyway and was going to work on it next but Angel of the Morning has been calling me for the last couple of days so now I can't decide!

Friday SAL

Yesterday's effort is the motif on the left, I've got a couple of little bits left to do on it next week but otherwise it's finished. I'm due to take Mum to a craft place on the outskirts of Crewe next week and it's not that far from Hobbycraft at Bridgemere so I'm going to drag her there (not that she'll complain) to help me decide on a colour for the alphabet.
Edited to add that I have no idea why the pic is disappearing off the right side of the post, it fits on the post screen and I even resized it!

At last the finished card

Yesterday morning I finally got round to putting the card together for my Parents Ruby Wedding Anniversay

It's turned out quite well but you really can't see how much it glitters with all the mettalic thread in it because it was so dull yesterday. I meant to give it to them last night when we went out for a meal with my brother (he was over here for a quick visit, first time I've seen him since Oct 07 when we said goodbye to my Gran) but me being the forgetful person that I am left it on the table so I'll give it Mum in the morning before we leave for Darts practice

Quaker Row Update

I got a good few hours in on it yesterday and did what I wanted which was to finish the Squirrel and do the bunny

Pat (my SAL partner) is way ahead of me, she's got all the left side completed.
Sharon asked last week if this was the colour of the entire thing and yes it is although I am toying with the idea of doing the alphabet in a different colour
And I found out last night that a different Sharon was responsible for the RAK I received yesterday, Thank You Sharon and I'll be sure to post here when I use it

A Happy Dance and a RAK

This morning I put the last few stitches in The Peacock, I was hoping to finish it yesterday but I was way too tired last night and I found a boo boo :(
The Peacock Freebie
Papillion Creations

I have no idea what the fabric is, it was an odd piece from my stash but I suspect that it's Cashel and I used GAST

I got RAKed today, in amongst the parcel I was expecting from Sparklies was tucked a little package all wrapped up in snowflake tissue paper with a RAKed label on it. Said package had a piece of Fairy Tale in it :) I have no idea who it's off but it made my day, after a week of being sick it was a much needed boost. So just in case your reading this, Thank You who every you are

Strange Cat

Yes that's her litter tray she's sat in! Ever since I changed it this morning she's taken to sitting in it for some odd reason

New Start #1

I got fed up with stitching dark colours today so I've put Scary Book down for now. The yellow is part of the book (I'm saving the rest for when I'm really fed up with dark colours and green) and the green line is the start of his tail

I've spent this evening with the current UFO RR I have, tomorrow I'll either work on Fantasy Sampler for TW Monday or do the first of a set of monthly dragons I want to get done this year

New Start #2

Midnight Stitching's Quaker Row
I'm doing this one as a SAL with a freind and she asked if we could do it on a Friday well that worked well for me and it solved my problem of what WIP to work on for the SAT over on Let's Stitch each week

In case your wondering what happenned to my first new start I went back to it this morning and will post a pic when Iput it down

December Progress & January Goals

For December I said

Finish Fantasy Sampler No, but I knew early in the month I wouldn't make it and gave up trying
Finish Bigger Stash Done
Finish My Needleswork No, only got an hour's work on it
Finish the payed Birth Sampler Done
Finish something else I finished the Ruby card for my Parents
Stitch at least 2 ornaments Done
Stitch an ornament for Mel No, she has promised to nag me through the year to get the 2 I owe her done
UFO RR Done but mailed alot later than planned
Finish beaded Angel Box (WIP pic to follow later) The box has a few more rows left to do and I need to do the lid

For January I'd like to

Finish the Angel Box
UFO RR
SOLAK Square
Start all the new WIPs I feel like and not to feel guilty
A finish would be nice

In December I stitched for a taol of 92hrs 47 mins, had 2 new starts and 5 finishes

And overall in 2008 I stitched for a total of 1,110hrs 13mins with my best month being May (132hrs 55 mins but I was sick and didn't move off the sofa for almost a week) and I had 37 new starts and 31 finishes

2009 Goals

1, Reduce the number of WIPs I have to less than 40 (I know I said that for last year but I'm more determined this time) I'm starting with 43

2, Finish Fantasy Sampler (life got in the way last year)

3, Make good progress on another TW

4, Finish a Silver Lining

5, No huge new start unless I get a good amount of WIPs finished first (except for my Birthday Start if I feel like doing a huge one)

6, Do at least one SOLAK sqaure each month

Happy New Year
