Meet Molly

Molly was my entry for the Cheshire show this year.
She didn't do well but the judge didn't seem to like any beaded item that wasn't a piece of jewellery :( but I'm very happy with her.  The pen is for scale

And she's sat with Henry now on a comfy armchair and Henry is happy to have long awaited friend for company :)

SFS July report

It's time for the monthly Stitch from Stash report.

Starting budget = £20
£ spent = 0
£ earnt = £6 for Spring
Budget left = £26

I started this for an exchange earlier in the year and then decided that it wasn't suitable after all so put it aside.  Last weekend I decided to take a week off from the Lake District sampler as I've been getting a little fed up with it so pulled it out and finished it off.

It's an old freebie from Brown House Studio simply called Spring.
I stitched it on an oddment of 23 count I found in my stash and changed the colours to those that I had .
I'm quite pleased with it and I'm glad I've finished it and can cross a PHD off the list :)

IHSW report

This last weekend was numb bum weekend aka International Hermit and Stitch and I certainly :)
It's the first time in a few months I've either remembered to sign up for it or not had lots of other things planned!

Friday I spent with the Turtles, no bowls this week so more progress was made.  I'd already uploaded the new piccie so if you want to the see the before one click here

Saturday morning I switched to my weekend project TW's Plums ornament which went from this

to this

I got so much done that I could possibly be finished in a couple of weeks

Hexies

I'm taking part in a 1" hexie flower swap that's happening in the EPP (English Paper Piecing) group I'm in on facebook.  One member posted about it and it snowballed from there, all we have to do is message people to swap with make your flower, sign the centre and post it off, simples :)

My first 4 ready to go, these went to Tasmania, Canada and USA and yes I did sign them before I sent them

A couple of days ago the first one arrived

This morning another 2 arrived

Gifted Gorgeousness and Rubbish aka TUSAL

Once again I'm combining the posts for  Gifted Gorgeousness and TUSAL partly because I forgot about posting yesterday and because I have nothing new to add for GG :(

You've seen this before a few weeks back.  Sun Sampler from M Designs, it was my weekend project and the chart was a RAK several years ago

Lots of orts added to my jar from Sun Sampler, Turtles and Lake District plus lots of sewing thread from all the hexies I've been working on the last week or so for an exchange on facebook

Orts from Mollie (my bear for the Cheshire show that I have to share!), Tetris box and pagoda boxes

New weekend project

I had to pick a new weekend project a couple of weeks back with finishing the Sun Sampler and I settled on TW's Plum's ornament.
I started this 10+ years ago as part of a SAL but it got put aside after a little while never to see the light of day again until 2 weekends ago.

Here's how it started out

After the first weekend

And after this last weekend.
Very little stitching was done last week at all as my mojo went for a walk about for several days and only made an appearance late on Sunday afternoon :(  I did do a little bit of my quilt tho and made a start on hexies for an exchange

Turtles didn't even come out to play last Friday, this is the piccie I should've posted a week ago but didn't!

2015 goal review

As we are now into the second half of the year I thought I'd do a quick review of my goals for the year.

On Jan 1st I said
Keep up with Stitch from Stash, it's done me good this last year
Group A has finished and I've signed up for group B so I'm doing OK with this
Keep up with the TUSAL
So far so good
Finish Santa's Village, I've done 6 so it's all downhill now
It's not been touched :(
Finish more than I start
It's the other way round right now!
Get my PHD's to below 20
I have more than I started with but I tend to finish things in the second half of the year rather than start new ones
Finish at least of 2 of the projects that have no start year listed
2 of them are done and there is plenty of time for more
Make good progress on (or even finish) a TW
I think my new weekend project will be a TW
Not to leave all my Christmas ornaments until just before they are needed
Not done any so far :(

Overall not to bad really, roughly half and half and I still have 6 months to do something about the minus half

June progress & July Goals

For June I said
Get the next row on the quilt half done  Nop, I did add a few more to it tho
Finish Sun Sampler  Done
Pick a new weekend project  Not done as yet
Get the Lake District Sampler half done  Not quite :(
Keep selling stash   Yep more items have gone to new homes

For July I'd like to
Make progress on my quilt (it's too hot to add to the main bit!)
Pick a new weekend project
Finish the Lake District Sampler
Keep selling stash

I stitched for 76 hours 7 minutes in June thanks to a stitching weekend :), I had one new start and 1 finish and 1 day of no stitching but I did bead that day.

Current PHD total = 31
