Cellini spiral finish

After finishing the lantern I pulled out a UFO to finish not sure why I put it away in the first place but it’s done now

 

I used size 15 seeds, delicas, size 10 seeds, size 11 seeds and a size 8 seed beads to make it.

My thought for the colour scheme is that I can wear it with anything I like (when I remember I have handmade jewellery!)

Love quilts square

Late Wednesday night I finished my next square for Love Quilts.

It took a lot of stitching and I was really fed up with by the end of it but it also helped me through the loss of my Dad

I took the pic moments after I finished it on my mobile so it’s a bit rough, still in its hoop, the telly in the background and my leg at the bottom!

Snowman lantern

After I finished the peacock I picked up the snowman lantern from Threadabead that I’d been working on for a few months when the mood grabbed me.

I took this pic before 8am on Feb 6th, I then joined them together and made a start on the top of the lantern.

I was called to the hospital at 18.37 that evening, my Dad had been taken in seriously ill with COVID.

My world fell apart and I spent the next 10 days working madly on it while I coped/ started to deal with the loss of my Dad.

I finished it a few days ago and it will always hold a special place in my heart

Not only did I lose my Dad to this awful virus but my Mum is still in hospital recovering from it and until Monday I was self isolating after a positive test although I had no symptoms.

Please everyone do as your asked and wear a mask, wash your hands and sanitize them when your out and about

Peacock bauble at last

 Here he is at last.

I finished him just after I’d completed the star but only just got round to taking some pics today!

Those tail feathers were lovely to make and I have thought about making some earrings

The kit is from Spellbound Beads and he comes in a variety of colours if your tempted to have a go yourself

 Just because I can a recent pic of Elliot, he’s a very happy little boy but cheeky with it

First bead finish of the year

 Bet you were expecting this to be the white peacock bauble not a star weren’t you.

Well it would of been had I not dropped the bauble and broken it 😢 so I started this while I waited for a replacement to arrive.

This was a test bead for Hookin’ to the beat on Etsy, I’ve been testing for her for a few months now and as soon as this one came up I jumped on it for bump who is due in 5 weeks time.

I could of waited until the elephant one to match Elliot’s is available later in the year but I wanted a different one for bump

First finishes of 2021

Both of these were finished a few weeks back but I had trouble getting them uploaded so I gave up and have only just remembered to come back to it!

This guy is only available for Love Quilts use from the files there, he was a joy to stitch.

He was my 3rd LQ start but my 2nd LQ finish

This one is from Climbing Goat Designs on Etsy and was started before the alien but finished after him because I had to order a colour for it and it took the place I ordered from almost a week to send my order out!  

So this one was my 2nd LQ start but my 3rd LQ finish.

 My next square is well underway now 🙂

January 1st starts

 Last year and this year I started doing a new beading start on January 1st.

This year’s beading start is the peacock bauble from Spellbound beads which was a Christmas gift from my parents

And my stitching start is Cirque des Triangles from Ink Circles.

The fabric is a custom dye from Sparklies and I’m using good old DMC

And Since today is Monday and I’m looking after Elliot here’s a pic of him to end 

Review of 2020

 I thought I’d do a quick recap of 2020 

I started the year with 26 projects of which I finished 2

I started 26 projects (which I didn’t realise was the same as I started out with until I looked to write this!) of those 26 I finished 21 leaving me 5 to carry over to this year so I ended the year with 29 🙁

I don’t time myself anymore but because of a group I joined on Facebook I count stitches instead and I did a total of 138,370 not inc Jan because for some reason I didn’t record the months total.  The best month was March due to a team challenge which I’m pleased to say my team won 🙂

I’ve made an effort to blog more the last few months and will continue to do that and hope to get back to taking part in TUSAL, gifted gorgeousness and hermit weekends assuming they all still run, well I know hermit weekends do on Facebook.

I took my annual ort jar pics on Jan 1st before emptying them and finding them their annual bath

And lastly this popped up on my feed so I stole it and I’m sharing it with you all as a new year blessing
