January 1st starts

Last year and this year I started doing a new beading start on January 1st.

This year’s beading start is the peacock bauble from Spellbound beads which was a Christmas gift from my parents

And my stitching start is Cirque des Triangles from Ink Circles.

The fabric is a custom dye from Sparklies and I’m using good old DMC

And Since today is Monday and I’m looking after Elliot here’s a pic of him to end

Major happy dance time

At 11.30 pm last night I put the last stitch into CdC and just in case your wondering it was the one in the top right corner :)

Started on Jan 1st 2011 and left in the PHD drawer for most the time until August 3rd when it became my weekend project.

I'd seen lots of these done on dark fabric with colourful thread and I wanted to be a little different so went with bright fabric (Opal sunflowers from Sparklies) and black thread.

Weekend progress

I finished the last bit of the large circle. got 2 more full circle done as well as lots of smaller ones last weekend

And as you can see I'm very close to finishing it completey

I'd love to be able to say it'll be finished this weekend but it's unlikely to happen which is a shame as I would of loved to have it done to take to Harrogate knitting and Stitching with me to show it off on Sparklies stand

Weekend progress

Cdc made an appearance at the weekend again and I managed to almost fill the huge circle in centre.

I'm hoping I'll be finished this month, keep your fingers crossed for me it would be lovely to cross this one off the list

Weekend progress

I've started to fill in the big circle in the middle now

Weekend progress

Here we are on Friday night and once again I'm only just getting round to posting last weekends progress on CdC

I'm really pleased with how much I got done and now have 3 corners completed :)
I reckon I'm in the region of 2/3 done now.
Plan for this weekend is to start filling in that huge circle

Weekend progress

I did warn you there would probably be very little progress during the last weekend of September and I was right in fact there was so little progress made it wasn't worth doing a post about it but I did take a pic

And here's last weekend's progress.
The aim this weekend is to finish the corner and then I can start making my way up

 And lastly an overall view

Weekend progress

Here's how I got on last weekend, scroll down to my last post if you fancy comparing pics.

I'm off on the weekend beading class this coming weekend so I doubt much progress will be made but I'll do my best to make sure I at least get a length of thread in

Thank you for all the lovely comments on the carriage and yes Jo the blocks count down the days I had it on 08 simply because that was the date I finished it

2 finishes

The next part of the train was due out on Friday but not until mid morning so I wanted something quick to do while I waited.
So I did a pen cover, the pattern is part of this month challenge in the facebook and fitted the bill perfectly.  It's done in tubular peyote so I don't have a flat one to show you, you'll have to make do with 2 halves and just in case it reads I love to bead

Friday afternoon I finished Damask Square as well.

Amazing how much you can get done when you have no reason to leave the house for 2 days!

Damask square progress

I ended up being out most evening again last week so not as much progress as I would of liked was made

Still loving every stitch and with any luck I'll finish it this week

Weekend progress

I fancied a change last weekend and worked down rather than across so I have now reached the bottom

Long way to go before I have as much of this one done as I do my beaded one

Last weeks stitching

Last Saturday I went to the Festival of Quilts to help out on the Sparklies stand for the day and of course I had to get some new stash while I was at it :)
I bought the chart for Ink Circles Damask Square had a root round the oddments box on the stand and went to Paint Box Threads for some silk (I was going there anyway to get the silk for something I plan to start soonish)

Monday arrived and I couldn't resist starting it

I've loved every stitch of it and will be back on it on Monday but now I'm off to work on CdC for the weekend

Weekend progress

Not much to show again this week :(
I spent Saturday at the Festival of quilts helping out on Sparklies which was interesting because I'd started to lose my voice on Friday night at bowls.
Sunday I felt so off that I wasn't in the right frame of mind to stitch very much

Weekend progress

Not much progress last weekend with Teejay here and spending the day in Chester with him and Mel but all progress is good :)

Thank you all for your lovely comments about the Halloween bauble as much as it's not my taste I'm pleased with the way it turned out :)

Weekend progress

When I asked you all to help me pick my new weekend project I was really undecided between Thread bear and Cirque so with your help I went with Cirque.

Here's how it was when I asked (it's also a good pic of the fabric colour)

And after the weekend

Beaded CdC

I've been working on this again for the last few days and have now reached the half way point with it so I'm a happy bunny this evening :)  Fingers crossed it won't take me as long to do the second half.

December Gifted Gorgeousness and last finishes of 2016

Gifted Gorgeousness is an idea thought up by the lovely Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching to get all us stitchers using those items in our stash that have been gifted to us or that we intend to give as a gift.

This month I only have Funky Street to share with you once again but this time in all it's glory because I finished it on December 22.
I bought the kit for it early this year and it was partly paid for by a voucher I received for Christmas which is why I'm counting it

On to my last finishes of 2016

I then went on to finish the Tomatoes that have been my away from home project, I knew I wouldn't be going anywhere else this year and wanted one less PHD starting off 2017
The last stitch went in them on December 27

It's now 11.45 pm on December 31 and after spending all of today and pretty much most of the last couple of days doing nothing but stitch about an hour I finished Alchemical Romance.
This was my Jan 1st start this year and I struck the urge to try and make it my last finish of the year as well

Midnight is almost here so I wish you all a very Happy New Year and may 2017 be a happy healthy one.
