I went to a bead fair today at Haydock race course organised by
Beads up North with Mum. We didn't actually decide to go until mid morning so didn't arrive until about 1.30.
Once you've paid your entrance fee there is always a table with a free prize draw to win some goodies donated by the exhibitors so as I have done every bead fair I've gone to for the last 8 or so years I entered and thought nothing more of it.
Because we arrived late in the day (much easier to get around if you do BTW) and Mum was on her scooter it took us longer to get round than normal (stopping for a coffee and to chat to friends and stallholders as well added in) we were one of the last to leave when it closed. We both stopped for a call of nature before the trip home and while I waited for Mum one of the girls asked me if I was Lindsay so I said yes, Lindsay L*****, yes would you like to see my driving license :) OOOOO you've won one of the hampers. Cue me going your kidding me, I don't win these things!
The only reason she thought I was me is because a couple of years ago they had a charity competition to string beads and I won it.
If you follow the link above there is a pic of my ugly mug :) along with Gordon Halfpenny and my little hamper of goodies but here are the detailed ones :) (with links to the generous exhibitors, please do go and check out their wares)
The Hamper
Pearl necklace and snake charm from
Mr Bead
And lastly something to refresh after a hard days bead shopping.
I'm guessing this is from
Halfpenneys because there's no clue on it and there was one in the other basket as well
