Happy Dance time

I did tell you that The Zoo didn't look like the update I posted yesterday and that's because I finished it at 11.21 last night :)

It's been interesting to work on and quite easy really although there have been a few times I would of quite happily binned it if I wasn't getting payed to stitch it esp when I discovered the mistake that meant undoing a lot of it or leaving it as was.

It you want a reminder of how it started life with me go here

I've made a start on Firefly Fairies and hopefully I won't get to the point of avoiding working on it as it's even less my taste than The Zoo

North Pole Post Office

Is finished :)
Well apart from a bit of the top border but I'll do that next time round and I can live with it till then.

I'm really going to have to pull my socks up with this if I'm going to get caught up and finished this year and not take 2 weeks to stitch each house!

Couple of finishes

Remember earlier this year when I finished the Remembrance bookmark I said Mel asked for one as a bracelet well here it is.
I actually finished it weeks ago and gave it to her when I saw her next then realised that I hadn't taken a pic of it so several weeks later and many attempts to get one here it is.
I had to make a slight change to make it work but it fit her perfectly.

Last week it was time to work on Again but with Teejay & co here I didn't get him finished as I hoped.
Here's how he stood last Friday when I put him down.

After 3 hours on Monday he was finished

Post IHSW report

I forgot to sign up for IHSW this month but I didn't let that minor detail stop me from taking part :)

The Zoo on Saturday morning

And again on Monday morning.

In theory I could finish it this coming weekend if I could spend as much time on it as I did last weekend but I have a few things on over the weekend one of which is a bead fair.
I think what I'll most likely do is see what's left on Monday and then decide if I want to finish it then or wait a week, finishing it on Monday does have the added bonus of putting off starting Firefly Faries tho....

Some updates

Thank you everyone for your comments about Millie they mean a lot to me

Last week I worked on North Pole Post Office, didn't get as much done as I would of liked but never mind I'll be back on it soon enough

Weekend progress on The Zoo.
I had another busy weekend so didn't get much time to work on it which helped keep my mind busy occupied on the plus side.
After lunch this Saturday I don't have any plans so hopefully I'll get the bottom half finished and make a dent in what's left on the top

I'm back on Again this week and I realised I hadn't posted a pic of it when I put it down so here it is with just a few stitches added.
I should get him finished this week which will mean it's time to start Firefly Fairies which I'm not looking forward to as it's so not my taste but it'll help pay for Christmas this year

There's not going to be much variety stitching wise here over the next few months assuming I stick to my plan of alternating weeks on projects that is, it's the only way I can think of getting the payed projects done without working on them full time and boring myself to tears or just not stitching.

Fat Free cake

No I haven't been baking but I have been making a cake using my Sweet Treats book by Katie Dean.

My Mum turned 65 a few weeks ago and she loves Battenburg cake so I decided to make her one for her Birthday, it was a little fiddly at times and a pain in the arse once or twice when assembling it but I'm really pleased with it and my Mum loved it.

The Zoo update

Not much progress this last weekend but I knew there wouldn't be as I had a busy one planned but it all counts

Monday, July 08, 2013

It's that time of the month again when my fella looks like at me like I'm mad for taking a pic of my orts but say's nothing cause I'm happy.

I have a new vessel for my beading thread orts so to kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak here they are in it

And here they are again with their stitching friends
This new moon I've added orts from Flower Ball, The Zoo, Esther Sleepe, Again and of course all the beading thread orts.

The Zoo update

I had another good weekend and made great progress on The Zoo one bunny to go and the bottom half is finished.
I had originaly set my goal for this in July to have the bottom half done but after 2 weekends with huge progress made I changed it to having it almost done but it would be fantastic if I could get it finished

2013 goals update

Since we are now half way through the year I thought I'd do a quick review of my 2013 goals.

Stitch or bead an ornament a month and finish it  Not quite, I've done a few but not every month
Stitch at least 6 squares for SOLAK  Can't remember if I've done 1 or 2
Start and finish Santa's Village  Started and I'm behind on it at the mintue but have a plan to get caught up
Finish more projects than I start  So far so good
Keep up with the TUSAL  An easy one
Get my PHD number to below 25  Not near it yet

June Progress & July Goals

For June I said

Finish the Garden Ball  Done
Finish the Poppy Box  Done
Finish the Church  I gave up on this once I realised I didn't have a small enough bell for the tower

For July I's like to
Get The Zoo close to finished
Make a start on getting caught up on Santa's Village
Finish Again! and start Firefly fairies

Again and Firefly Fairies are both payed projects so my plan is to work alternate weeks on them and Santa's Village and of course keeping up with The Zoo at the weekends.

I stitched for 60 hours and 40 minutes in June, had 1 new start (Again!) and 1 finish and 2 days of no stitching :(

Current PHD total = 32
