4 Seasons update

I spent last week working on my 4 Seasons Sampler and I'm still loving every stitch of it

I just have to do the floral band and then I'll be half done but that's a job for next month.
Boy was I glad to finish the beehive in the middle, it's done in Smyrna crosses and I was really fed up with them by the time I was done!

Yesterday I went down to The Nimble Thimble to meet up with friends from Needlecraft Haven and of course a little stash came home with me :)
I'll be starting the Buttons & Beads on Wednesday as a SAL with Ursh who claimed I twisted her arm to buy the kit but I never laid a finger on her, honest

Mel's rose framed

Yesterday I went down to the Nimble Thimble to collect Mel's rose, she picked the frame herself and I think she did a great job.
The only problem is that she has no wall space left in her room so it's going to grace to wall opposite her bedroom door which is by the bathroom door.

And of course I had to buy some stash while I was there :)
I had actually asked Chris to order Tracery Dragons for me just a few days before TW made her announcement so I was lucky there and I didn't have my wish list with me so not much else came home with me

NEC goodies

So yesterday I went to Sewing for Pleasure & Hobbycrafts at the NEC, spent too much, walked miles and suffered back ache all day but I had a great time :)

My first stand netted me Simply Live from The Primitive Needle, Something Old, Something New from Little House Needleworks, Quaker Faith Hope Love from Midnight Stitching and Quaker Pincushions from Miladys Needle

Then I kitted up Mary Busby with NPI and a piece of 40 ct Newcastle Linen (the pale blue came with the chart so I didn't replace that one)

Then I bought LHN Traveling Stitcher & Geranium Houe and LK Ice Cream Boxer (I will get the set as I go to Chris at The Nimble Thimble) & ABC Lessons as well as picking up some framing Chris had for me that I'll share another day

Assorted silks, some for projects some not, some retired Weeks, a couple of skeins of rayon for beaded tassels, piece of 32 ct Belfast, a nice long but not wide piece of fabric to make myself a Q Snap cover and JBW Desisgns A Very Merry Winter

And lastly a couple of charts books with charts in for SOLAK (they cost all of £1 each), a kids kit of Gromit that I'll use a different fabric for (again it was dirt cheap and I can prob. stitch it a couple of times from the floss) and a few ribbons that I picked up for finishing

I also bought a few bits and pieces to inclue in exchange packages as well as a couple of gifts so I can't really share those.
I really want to go and make a start on something I bought yesterday but I'm going to try and be good and work on a WIP instead, besides Mel had a list of things she could get me for Mother's Day next week so if she did get anything off it for me I'll be having anew start next Sunday

Stitching pics at long last

It's something like 2 weeks since I last posted any stitching pics, bad girl and after boring you all silly with endless pics of my holiday it's about time I proved that I do still pick up a needle.

First up is Lizzie Kate's Living with Charm, I bought this at The Nimble Thimble (Karen I will get round to emailing you about it soon) when I went down with Liz right at the start of my hoilday and picked up Home of a Needleworker Too, which BTW I tried to hang up over the weekend and gave up after I'd bent 2 pins!
It's on PTP Carnival and I'm using DMC apart from for the border and it means I failed one of my goals for Sept

So before I went I was spending my evenings with Bigger Stash and completed my hours on it last week.

The last few evenings have gone on Caleb's birth sampler

And lastly those darn Oriental Orchids that are taking up my days when I'm home, I can't wait to get them finished and back to the Wool/LNS so I can get on with Fantasy Sampler for TW October

Excuse the poor light it's very cloudy here today and the flash made them look even worse. Oh and in case your wondering what those threads are at the side, I started the BS so I could roll the frame down and parked the thread out of the way at the side.
Mum's getting there slowly BTW, she's still in alot of pain but the Morphine is doing it's job and making it bearable, we go back to the frature clinic on Monday to find out the results of the blood test

At last, The Riddle framed

I've actully had this pic for a few weeks now butkept forgetting to post it!
I think Chris did a fantastic job with it and when I do it for myself in the future I'll have it framed the same way

The Riddle is finished

I finished Saturday lunch time and 30 mins later was on the road to take it back to Chris!
I hope to have a pic of it framed in a few weeks as Chris is going to be at Sewing for Pleasure at the NEC and I'll be going as normal so if I get chance I'll take a pic

Riddle update

Not much more to go now, just the rest of the band that's got a tree top, the block of writing to finish, a repeat of the top band and the remaining border
I'm spending the weekend with Mermaid and Monday with Fantasy Sampler so I'll be back to it on Tuesday after I've done my hour on my UFO and aim to get that band finished by the end of the week

All day today I've been trying to get into Webshots and I can't :( I've no idea if it's just me or if they are down for some reason.
I want to add the pic to my album so I can post it on the BB's I visit because I'm not that keen on directing people here but if it's still the same tomorrow I guess I'll have to

I'll post my monthly goals tomorrow at gone 1am I really should be heading for bed!

But the last one for a while, I'm off to the Post Office in a while to send it back

It now stands at 55 hours and it's just about half done. If your in the UK and going to Harrogate at the end of this week stop by The Nimble Thimble stand, say Hello to Chris and tell her you saw it here :)

More Riddle

I didn't get much stitching time Thursday, Friday and Saturday so it wasn't worth doing a daily update, this is from this morning before I started. I have to post it back tomorrow so want to get as much as poss done today

My new puter is now up and running but Vista doesn't like my scanner and Lexmark haven't done a new driver for it cause it's old so I'm now on the digicam and the pics won't be as clear for a while until I'm used to playing with new software

It's coming along quite nicely don't you think?
The flower pot on the right has my first ever Queen stitches on it and they were alot easier than I thought they'd be

A new WIP

Drawn Thread's The Riddle

I'm stitching it as a model for my framer (Shameless plug coming up) Chris of The Nimble Thimble

For those of you in the UK going to Harrogate later this month you'll be able to see it in person there although it's doubtful it's going to be finished by then
