Stitch from Stash December report

I've not spent a single penny this month not even the rest of the bonus budget so I'm quite pleased about that so I don't really have anything to write about this month.
I have continued to find new homes for some of my unwanted stash and plan to carry on next year.

New starts from stash = None
PHD's worked on = Skating Penguins and Toy Gatherer
£ spent = a big fat zero
Budget left = £144.64.  £124.64 carried over and £20 for Dec
Bonus Budget left = £19.33


Over the course of the year I have spent £95.36 on stash from my budget not including the bonus budget for Nov/Dec that averages out to just £7.94 a month!

We have a break now until the new Stitch from Stash starts on Jan 1st so you never know I may invest in Peacock Cypher so that I can finally use the silk pack for it that was gifted to me by Daffycat several years ago!

I'd like to thank Mel of Epic Stitching for all she has done for all of us taking part this year and I hope she doesn't have any grey hairs from it :)

Stitch from Stash November report

I've been using the bonus £ this month and have given a few things a new home.

1 X Crescent colour and a DMC both to finish projects and 2 Daffodils kit's both from Heritage, the large one is the last of the floral panels I wanted to get to get and I got it for less than £10 on the bay of evil (aka ebay).

New starts from stash = Ornament for an exchange that I can't revel, Dragon Rampant coaster, Whoops fob

PHD's worked on = Splendor (finished), Skating Penguins, Toy Gatherer, Flower Tender (finished about 30 mins before I came on line)

£ spent = 0 from budget

Budget left = £124.64.   £104.64 left and £20 for November

Bonus Budget left = £19.33

Stitch from Stash October report

I've bought a few things this month :( but I've sold off more than I've added  :)

First thing was the poppy panel kit from Heritage mentioned in my report last month, some scissors and bobbins for thread but they paid for with a voucher that my bowls team gave me for being Captain this year and so if I remember correctly they are exempt.

I've bought 2 lots of gently used charts, those are for me 

 I've bought 2 charts and a kit but they are gifts (the actual items) so again they are exempt  

I've also bought this years ornament issue but after the bonus was announced.  I have asked if we have to use the bonus in one lump or if we can use it a bit at a time so for now I'm going to use my bonus for it.

PHD's worked on = Halloween Moon (finished), Splendor and Ho Ho Ho

Budget left = £104.64  £84.64 after purchases and £20 for November

Bonus Budget left = £36.05.  As the bonus is twice the normal budget I'm just going to double up my £20 normal budget.

Stitch from Stash September report

I've bought a couple of things this month but I've sold far more and made a dent in the pile of stash I'd like to find new homes for.

First thing was a cone of black DMC for the bargain price of £9 it'll last me for years and save me a small fortune in the long run.

The second thing was a chart from a kit on the bay of evil (aka ebay) for some time now I've been drooling over some of the floral panels and I found the chart for the sweet peas and had the winning bid of £3.95.

I have the Sunflower one already and I'll keep looking to see if I can get the Fuschia, Daffodil and Poppy (but not the poppy one in the link, the older version) as charts on the bay of evil 

New starts from stash = Bee Happy (finished) and Toledo canvas work (also finished)

PHD's worked on = Halloween Moon and Splendor Rose

£ spent = £12.95

Budget left = £90.62.  £70.62 carried forward after purchases and £20 for October

And because I don't like doing a post without a pic of I can help here's the latest progress on Halloween Moon.

It's going to be my weekly project all the time now until it's done so that I can get it back to Sparklies in time for her Dublin show

Oh and my knee is doing better, I can put weight on it now and the swelling has gone down a lot but I think I've still got a way to go before I go up the stairs normally

Stitch from Stash August report

I've had a good month this month and I've only spent £1.99 and that was for a chart that's going to be a Christmas present when it's stitched so going by the rules it doesn't even count :)  I plan on starting it later in Sept to give me time to get it done and framed.

I've carried on selling off some of my unwanted stash and have found homes for a quite a few things now but there's still a fair bit to go and I could probably find more if I tried!!

This is Ho Ho Ho from Lizzie Kate, it was a special edition kit in 2007 and I'm only just getting round to it although I've switched the colour for Ho Ho Ho to Bejewelled instead of spinach simply because I prefer it :)

Stitch from Stash July report

I've spent this month but I knew I would with going to The Nimble Thimble for a get together a couple of weeks ago but I've also carried on selling off stash I no longer want so my stash hasn't grown really.

The goodies I brought home with me and no I've not started any of them yet but only because I had to finish the penguins for Teejay (which I did just before coming online).

In total I spent £66.55!

I've also bought another Penguin kit from local shop to do for Teejay for Christmas but I won't be starting it for a month or two yet, I need a break from them and I have a model to do

Stitch from Stash June report

This month I've spent some of my budget, got some free stuff and carried on selling off things I no longer want :)

First the new stash......

I had my annual weekend gtg early in the month and a few of us spent the Saturday out and about first stop was Spellbound and then we went to a couple of quilting shops, the second one has a stitching shop a few doors down and I left with the small Sunflower kit.

The big Sunflower came from Hobbycraft on the Monday morning as I came home, the 2 ladies I pick up at the station and I have a tradition of calling there for a wander round and then lunch before I drop them off.  Well there was a sale on and it's a Sunflower, need I say more?

The penguin kit came from my little local shop who is cutting down her XS stock so I had a look through the sale box (it would be rude not to!) and found it half price and knew right away I had to get it for Teejay.   Going by the exceptions it's not included in my spend because it's a gift and it's started, pic will up this weekend.

The turtles and thread are payment for the model stitching I will be doing soon for Sparklies so didn't cost me anything other than time.   The Sunflower chart came from one of the other ladies and the other items were free to a good home 

In total I spent £21.48

Budget left = £111.60 - £21.48 = £90.12    (I had £91.60 carried forward + £20 for June)

July is going to be another spending month as I'm off to a GTG at the Nimble Thimble in a couple of weeks :)

Stitch from Stash May report

I carried on with Sun Sampler last week and here's how far I got with it.

The pic looks a bit washed out because the sun decided to put in an appearance as I took it but you get the idea :)

And since I'm here and posting my weekend progress on Art Deco Sunrise, not bad for just one day's stitching over the bank holiday weekend.

New starts from Stash = 2, Sun Sampler and the Dolphin card in my last post

PHD's worked on = Daffodils, Hill House (finished),  Art Deco Sunrise and Thread Bear got an hour one evening when I couldn't face the daffs anymore!

£ spent = a big fat 0, woohoo

Budget left = £91.60, £71.60 carried forward and £20 for May.

I've sold a few kits this month as well, ones that I know I'll never do now that my girls are grown up so my stash has shrunk a little more which is good and the £ from them is going towards a set of drawers I want for storage so I'm a little bit closer to getting them now :)

But my chart stash grew a bit, last month I was the lucky winner of one of the monthly prize's, a complete set of CCN Monthly cottages.  I've often thought of buying the set in the past but never quite got round to it, now I know why :)

Couple of finishes

Yesterday it was my fella's birthday so I stitched him a card.   It's an old Cross Stitcher cover kit that I discovered lurking in my stash when I looked through it last week for my birthday start.

And I made him a set of pillowcases as well.

I had to unpick part of the first one because I made a mistake but I'd never made them before so it's allowed :)

Fella was very happy with both items :)

First of all here's last week's progress on Hill House

March 27 - April 27

New starts from stash - 2/3 of one, Hill House the fabric and thread is from my stash the chart is a travelling one

PHD's worked on - Flower Tender, Funky Merry Christmas (finished), Birds & Bees (also finished), Hill House, Daffodils and Art Deco Sunrise

£ spent - £3 all on thread

Budget left - £71.60.  £54.60 carried forward + £17 left in April.

The £3 would of only been £1 had I not gone to drop some things off at the charity shop for my MIL and had they now had a basket with DMC and Anchor in on the counter top for 25p each!  I only bought 8 so I was good and besides it would of been rude not to as it's for my local Hospice

Stitch from Stash March update

I thought I'd save my progress on Birds & Bees for this post.

I had hoped to get it finished last week but it turned out to be a very busy week and a on a couple of days I only got a few minutes in on it but it's not the end of the world that I didn't and there's always this next week

On to the reason for the post my Stitch from Stash update.

March turned out to be a boring month really, I didn't spend a penny or start anything new from stash but I did finish a couple.

Stitch from Stash February post and IHSW

It's time to report what I have/haven't spent this month for the Stitch from Stash challenge hosted by Mel at Epic Stitching 

But first here's my progress on Birds and Bees from last week.

I'm thinking I've got maybe 3 weeks worth of stitching left so I should be done about Mid April but don't quote me on that :)

We had an exemption weekend for Nashville market and I didn't spend a penny not that I didn't want to but I resisted temptation!!

Stitch From Stash January post

You all remembered that I'm going to try and stitch from my stash this year didn't you?

So far I'm doing ok but as we're aren't even a month into the year it's not really a surprise is it.

My January 1st start this year is Flower Tender and is the last of the bigger Pocket Dragon designs that were available in chart form so of course it's from my stash.

I really didn't get far with it because I needed to get Lewis finished so it got an hour or two spent on it and that was it.

Once Lewis was done I made a start on Thread Bear which is a kit that has been in my stash for around 20 years, yes you read that right!

I remember buying it and it's probably the thing that's been there longest but I won't swear to that.

My next new start is simply called Sunflowers and is the one I've used some of my budget for.   The chart, fabric and 2 of the colours are from stash but I had to buy the other 6 because it calls for Anchor and I don't have many of those.

I checked about the budget beforehand with being in the UK and was told that sticking to £25 was ok but I've seen other UK stitchers going with £15 which is roughly what $25 converts to so I thought I'd split the difference and go with £20.

My plan is to save it up all year so I have something to spend if I go to Harrogate again this year or maybe the NEC in November.
