Sunday Part 2 (pic heavy)

The afternoon saw us at Stapeley Water Gardens and in The Palms Tropical Oasis

I got to play about with the settings on my camera and use some of the functions for the first time esp the one for glass and leaf mode :)

Mel, DBF and I went off to Reaseheath today for Lambing weekend today

We had been stood beside a pen in the main barn watching this Ewe on and off for about 10 minutes and while we were talking about another Ewe she gave birth!

We hung around for another 30 mins or so as she was carrying triplets and the others had to appear soon.

While we watched she started with the second one but something was wrong and the lamb wasn't appearing so a student jumped in and helped her give birth.

This lamb showed no sign of life so they set to work to try and save it 

Unfortunately after trying for several minutes the lamb didn't respond and it was quietly moved to the back of the pen and covered up :(

The older guy is the boss and he told about another lamb in a small pen off to the side that had also been born showing no signs of life but had responded and with a little TLC was doing extremely well.

Because Mum still had one lamb to go she was caught and helped with #3 just in case

We got to hold a very special lamb.

This one was born a few weeks ago (story in the link above) and is very rare as it has two different fleece's!!

We went on to another local place after lunch but this post is long enough so I'll post about that tomorrow

Updates

For the first in a few weeks I managed to work on my UFO and I put in a couple of hours to try and make up a little time on it.

And this weeks progress on Mary Wigham, I decided to go back up to the top and work my way across so stitched the brown motif

Triangle class

Yesterday I took a class at my local bead shop for a triangle bracelet with the same tutor as the reversible triangles last year.

Again she had us make a sample first using 7 colours to make it easier to understand.

I was going to do my bracelet in the same colours as the reversible one so they matched but when I saw this combo I was sunk :)

By the end of the day I had made 2 triangles and joined them together. 

In the end I went with the same colour combo as the ribbon class (yes it has orange in it, it's just not in the pic I really should post an update on that!)

Now I just need to make 8 more of them to finish it off and wait for the clasp to come in at the bead shop.

Weekend Stitching

First of all here's the one I forgot in my last post, February's challenge freebie from the The Stitcherhood and I gave it to DBF for Valentine's Day.

Friday was Mary Wigham day and I finished the white motif but you can't see it in the big pic :(

So to prove it's done :)  it does show IRL but for some reason not in pics.

This weekend's progress on Celtic Banner

And I spent some time at DBF's so Celtic Griffin got worked on a little.

Sunday afternoon DBF and I went to one of those antique places that has lots of small stalls under one roof and I went with searching for a flower frog in mind.   I did find a few but none of them really spoke to me and none of them had a pot to match so I left them on the shelf.

DBF was on the lookout for them as well and pointed out a posy pot as a poss alternative and after wandering round all afternoon and not finding one that wanted to come home with me I went back and got the posy pot.

I've tried my scissors in it and they fit but because there's no support in the bottom they tend to fall over so I'm going to get some of those glass pebbles to fill the pot up with so they don't.

It's just been one of those weeks this week and for one reason or another I've not been online much so I'm somewhat late in posting my progress on Celtic Banner last week

Jo very kindly lent me her copy of BBD's Sunflower Charms and I've been very neglect in starting it so I've put that right this week and made a start and will carry on with each week until it's done.

A couple of weeks ago I lent Sally my copy of BBD's Winter Wonderland and it arrived back home today with company.  This little guy travelled well and wasn't sick once on the way :) He's very cute and I love him, Thank You Sally.

And lastly it's time to be Totally Useless.

This month we there are orts from Mary Wigham, Celtic Banner, Basket of Apples, Caleb's Birth Sampler, Joyful Summer, love freebie, Sunflower, 2006 Snowman, CdC, Sunflower Charms, a few colours of K O Thread and that pile of green is from a finished lace project but you'll have to wait and see what as it's my Mum's Mother's Day gift and she reads my blog.

While writing the list I've realised I missed a pic out so I'll come back tomorrow with it.

Finish Sunflower Charms

I stitched for 79 hours 23 mins last month, had 3 new starts and 2 finishes and picked a needle up every day which was pretty good going when you remember I suffered from vertigo for a week and found most things difficult including stitching!

My weekend's on Celtic Banner have gone well and I'm love with it once more but I'm already starting to think about what I'll concentrate on next even though a finish is a fair way off

Some updates

Monday's progress on Basket of Apples and the basket is finished apart from the back stitch

Feb's ornament, 2006 Snowman by Ursula Micheal Designs from 2006 JCS ornament issue stitched on 14 count aida and it's for Caleb.

Because I finished the ornament Thursday morning I had the rest of the day to work on something else so I pulled out CdC.  I'd almost got the circle complete when I discovered I was out by one stitch so had to frog the entire thing.

And last weekend I worked on my beaded CdC 

So far this week I haven't worked on my UFO which is unusual for me so I'm planning on putting that right in the morning before I pick Celtic Banner up.
