Weekend progress and maths

I spent time at DBF's over the weekend so didn't make huge amounts of progress on MW but all progress is good.  I did realise that I'd started the squirrel in the wrong brown but decided that since he was going to be brown and not blue/green/ pink etc it wasn't going to a problem and just makes my MW a little more unique :)

One week today I turn 40 and I'm going to have a giveaway so I thought I'd share a pic with you that gives you no idea whatsoever what it is but at least shows it colourful :)

When I posted my stocking finish a couple of weeks back Silverlotus asked how much my small beading projects can cost so this is as good a time as any to answer.

I'll use said stocking as the example as it only uses 3 colours and becasue it's from Jill Oxton I know how many beads of each colour were used which makes it a little easier.

On average a 5 gram tube of Delica's contains 900 - 1000 beads and for the stocking I needed 408 white, 144 green and 234 red.  Using Spellbound for prices the white cost £1.50, green £2.25 and red £1.85.
So going on that and rounding up/ down to make it easier the white cost 75p, green 38p and the red 89p giving a total of £2.02 and I have plenty left over for other projects like the one above, the red and green are the same ones.

Hope that answers it for Silverlotus

Squirrels in my garden are grey so any brown is different LOL

Interesting facts about the beading project.

Squirrels here are a brown much like the one you stitched. I think he looks great just the way he is!

Ooo...the beads are pretty! I will be watching for that birthday giveaway!

Yes I was going to say my squirrels are grey! And any uniqueness is a good thing!
