Finish #2

With all the hospital appointments for Mum lately and bowling on a Monday night I have another travel project finished.

This is The Sampling from Bent Creek.

I used cream aida and the DMC conversion.

It should have some star buttons on the vine but I don't have them so it's staying naked

Lizzie Kate finish

Middle of last week I finished off Ice Cream from Lizzie Kate's Sweet Tooth Boxers Jr 

Which means I finished the set off :)

I used good old DMC for it and changed a few of the colours as I went because I wasn't happy with the suggested ones for the GAST used in the original.

It's now safely tucked away in the drawer until I have the energy & ££ to sort out framing it for my kitchen

IHSW, progress and a finish

This last weekend was IHSW and so I sat on my butt and did just that :)

My starting point

You can't tell from the pic but I've also back stitched the leaves so the bottom is now complete :)

Last week I worked on Halloween Moon but not much progress was made because I didn't pick it up until Wednesday and you'll see the reason why next.

I should get loads done this week tho because I've sprained my left knee and can barely put weight on it so I'll be spending most of the week with it up although I do have to keep it moving as well which is easy enough to do really when you live alone, no one else is going to feed you or put the kettle on for a brew so I'm up about every hour anyway.

This is the reason Halloween moon wasn't picked up till Wednesday.

I took this with me in the caravan for the 3 Lancs and once again decided to finish it off.

The colours are all as charted but I did make a change.    The centre and corners were designed to have gold leather but I've never been keen on that part of the design so I did Norwich (aka Waffle) stitches instead and I'm much happier with the result

Snowman Finished

I finished the snowman yesterday morning, wooohooo my first 3D thing in beading :)

He has his flaws (mostly my really bad stitching together but I learnt alot and will do better with the santa) but I'm really please with how he's turned out.

He is standing on his own it just looks like he's leaning on Mel's shoulder

Welsh Dragon

If your on Yuku you'll recognise this little guy as my avatar.

I stitched him a couple of years ago for Mel as a Christmas present. She is a huge dragon fan but is esp. fond of the Welsh Dragon so when I saw this chart I knew I had to do it for her.

He's on that silver lurex Linda that you could get years ago and the frame really is gold

Lookie what I made

Until last Sept I never used my sewing machine for anything but that changed with help from friends and I used it last year to make ornaments up. Yesterday I got round to using the fabric I bought at the NEC to make a Q snap cover and it went straight into use around Celtic Banner.

Those 2 pics where taken seconds apart yet the top one turned out really dark, the close up is a much more life like. For someone that ran away from her machine for along time I'm really pleased with the way it came out, flaws and all

Socks

I finished a some socks last night, one of several pairs on the go

The yarn is Alpaca & Merino from The Natural Dye Studio and I used the Simple Ankle Sock pattern included in their sock kits

Winter Wonderland again

Another 2 days worth of SAL on it and I'm half way there already, I played about with the scanner settings a little and now the fabric is much closer to it's true colour of purple than the blue that it looks in the last pic although it still doesn't show the sparklie in it

I signed for the house this morning and the keys are in my hands, I've been down and gone through the inventory and made notes of things that were missed so first thing Monday morning I'm off back down the agents with it ( you have 3 working days to dispute anything on it). The only thing that's actully wrong on it is the number of plates, by the looks of it they have counted some twice and I wasn't even expecting to see things like plates on it in the first place but they will be washed, packed in a box and put at the back of the understairs cupboard out of the way. I took my camera down with me (twice over the course of the evening) and forgot to take to take pics hopefully I'll remember to take some tomorrow when I go back to start cleaning it up, it's not that it's filthy but there's bits on the floor from odd jobs that have been done, the oven needs a clean, doors need wiping over that type of thing and I'd rather do them before I start to move stuff in
