Summer Exchange received

Another thing that happenned in the last week was this beauty arrived all the way from Nina in Turkey for the Summer exchange over on Holiday Exchanges.
Ignore the green background I only used to get a better pic than my bedroom floor, lol.
I have no info about the design at all but it's gorgeous and so beautifully stitched. Nina did an outstanding job and I love it

She also sent me some lovely goodies

And while I was taking pics Rosie thought that it would be a good idea to play with the strap of the camera

Playing catch up

The last week has been so busy I've barely had to sneeze let alone post anything so I'm going to pack a fair bit into this one.

First of all last week was the Cheshire Show and I entered my bag. I scored 19 out of 20 and came away with a second place :)

Early Friday morning I drove up to Cumbria for Woolfest and of course a few things followed me home

I was really good this year and only bought 2 skeins of yarn, both out of bargin buckets and both for patterns I bought while there.

This year I mostly went for patterns although I did buy a couple of charts from Fobbles and a tea towel but I have good reason for that. Cheshire WI's office needs to have the heating system replaced so they sent £10 to every institute with the instructions to at least double it and send back half of the money raised and my institute decided to have a tea towel auction/raffle so when ever we go out and about over the summer we buy one and hand it.

Mels' minature rose has bloomed in the last few days As have Frederick and Bob the lilies we planted our first summer here (Mel and Sheena decided they had to have names and those are the ones they came up with)

Mary Busby Happy Dance

I settled down at lunch time to watch the BTCC (British Touring Cars Championship before anyone asks) all afternoon with the hope of finishing her and I did just that before it was even half over :)

Started March 20 2009
Completed June 20 2010
She's on 40 count Newcastle linen and I converted to NPI silk apart from the pale blue which came with the chart.

Meet Rosie

The first of 2 new additions to the family arrived today. Her name is Rosie and she's 9 weeks and 2 days old

Mille is not impressed but given time hopefully she'll accept her and she already has Mel wrapped round her paw

Just a quick post with a Mary Busby update.

Roses

The rose bush in the back garden has exploded this year so I thought I'd share a few pics of it and I hope it brightens your day as much as it does mine

TUSAL

I was sat stitching away last night when it struck me that it must be Totally Useless SAL posting time so I checked earlier and I was right, in fact I'm a few days late this time (any one heard off Yoyo, haven't seen a post off her for quite a while now).
So here's my jar for this month and without looking at my book I know there are orts int here from Mary Busby, UFO RR, Taz, Nova, Summer Exchange project, Kaleidoscope, Triangulaity and May's Christmas ornament.

UFO RR

The last UFO RR of the current round left here yesterday and headed home to Haze in Canada.

Updates and a gift

I've been busy stitching away but the project that's had most attention is for an exchange so I can't share yet but other projects got a little love this last weekend on the annual stitching GTG I attend every year with a group of UK Stitchers.
First up is Mary Busby, I'm hoping to finish her this month

ABC Christmas got a little more attention

And Triangularity went with me but never made it out of it's pouch to be worked on but it was admired, another one I'm hoping to finish this month.

And lastly on the way home I stopped off at Hobbycraft with Paula and Pat before taking them to the station and Paula surprised me with these.

A finish

Evening everyone just a quick post to share a recent finish.
This is Carrige House Samplings Quaker Alphabet stitched on Lakeside Linen's Patina using good old DMC.

Still no news on getting my puter fixed but hopefully tomorrow I'll know more when I see a freind that knows as he put it a computer geek who may be able to save my data for me before I get the hard drive replaced.
One advantage of not being online much is all the extra stitching time I'm getting in, something like 3 hours a day so I'm making great progress on my projects although I can't share the main one right now as it's an exchange project. But if I'm not back with a stitching update in the next few days I will be back with one in a week when I go on the annual weekend with a bunch of stitching friends

May progress & June Goals

For May I said

UFO RR Yes
Get an ornament done Yes
Finish Taz Yes
Pick a Birthday start Yes Lizzie Kate's ABC Christmas
Square a day on Nova No, I only managed 16 but May was a busy month

For June I'd like to
UFO RR (last one of the round)
Finish Quaker Alphabet Sampler (should do this tomorrow)
Get an ornament done
Square a day on Nova
Finish something else
Stitch and send my summer Exchange

I stitched for 63 hours 1 minute, had 2 new starts and 1 finish which was one of the new starts and I had a few days of no stitching.

And just a quick foot note, my puter has been looked at and it looks like my hard drive is fried
:( the annoying thing is Mel has the exact same computer as I do and she got her's at the same time as me and her hard drive went a couple of months ago!

Current PHD total = 40
