Ornaments and cake

A few days ago while at Mum's I spotted these and couldn't believe that she still had them.
They are the first Christmas ornaments I ever made and I was maybe 12 or 13 when I did them making them around 25 years old now!
I learnt to do patchwork the old fashioned way over paper at age 11 and can remember making a few of these as the pattern instructed which was in patchwork but then I wondered how they would turn out in plain fabric and this was the result.
They have now taken up residence on my tree.

In town this morning we stopped outside the cake shop for some reason and I happened to look in the window and although I'm not a cake eater these just had to come home for Mel and I to have with a brew.

They were really scrummy and worth mucking my blood sugars up for the rest of the day

Aren't first ornaments exciting to find? They usually bring back good memories and make it fun to see where we started and how far we have come with our crafts.
BTW...love the cupcakes, they are adorable!
Happy Holidays
