TUSAL

I told you I'd be back with it today :)

So this month we have orts from ABC Christmas, Mary Wigham, 2 different UFO RR's, Spiderman, Noel Ornie, Caleb's birth sampler, a private exchange I'm currently working on and several colours of KO thread as well as some Fireline.

And to make things even better my puter came home today although it remains to be seen how long it'll last this time

TW #2

I know I said I'd be back today with my TUSAL pic but the batteries in my camera died when I tried to take it earlier and I had to wait till I went to town this afternoon to get more so I will be here with it tomorrow.

Until then I'll leave you with my second TW finish, Geometric from JCS June 1988 which I stitched way back in 2001.

I'm sorry it's such a bad pic but back in 2001 I only had a scanner and it wasn't a really good one. One day I'll get round to doing a better pic of it but you'll get a better idea of how it look in a while because there's another one to come

Beading finish

Remember back in September I told you about the necklace I was working on?
Well I finished it earlier in the week and wore it at the Ladies bowls league meal on Tuesday night were it was much admired

I enjoyed making and love the finished piece but can't see me making another one anytime soon.

I'll be back tomorrow with my TUSAL post that should of been done yesterday

October finishes

For some reason I never got round to posting my finished Spiderman square for SOLAK.
I think he's turned out well but all that red was a little boring even although it did make a nice change after working with black all day as I worked on the dragon

And my ornament for October.
Freebie from Gazette94 and the monthly challenge on Stitch and Stash. I finished mine as a simple hanging pillow and used the fabric in the background as the backing.
I do know where's it's going but I'm not letting on

NaBloPoMo

I know I'm late in starting but my puter is down again so I'm back on Mel's once more for a little while, it's off being fixed so hopefully I'll be back up and running by the middle of the month.
With being a few days behind there will be a few double posts while I get caught up so please bear with me.
This time last year I threatened you all with posting a finished TW every day and I will do just that on the days I have nothing else to post about (or I'm doing a double post like today)

This is the first TW I ever completed way back in 2001. I stitched him for an exchange and will restitch him one day along with the other 2 in the set.

Mel's Pass Out Parade

For 3 weekends this month Mel has been away on her PI (Potential instructor) course for Cadets, the first step in becoming a fully fledged adult within the ACF.
Today I was very proud of her while I stood and watched her pass out parade and get handed the the slide that says she's a PI.

The little red square on the front of her uniform is what she has been presented wth today. The next step is another course that will be the next step up the ladder but she may be exempt from it as it's basically the same thing she did last year to become a Sargent and it's only a little over 12 months since she did the course.
Well Done Mel I'm really proud of you

UFO Night

Over the weekend I joined the Stitch & Stash forum and they have a UFO night every week so I joined in.

You all know how much I want to get my PHD number down over the next couple of years and having a UFO slot in my rotation has helped in the past only this time there's the treat of a visit from Mr Stick hanging over my head.

First one I'm going to work on is Caleb's Birth Sampler, the last pic I can find on my blog about it is here I have worked on it a few times since then so I thought I better take an updated pic of my starting point.

After a couple of hours it looks like this now

Fingers crossed I'll finally get it finished before to long

Friday's beading class

So as you'll of guessed by the title I took a beading class on Friday :)

First of all we started on this strip then went back and added the crystal on the end

Next we started on another strip only this one has a a split in the middle

See it is there, all will become clear when I share the finished article

And lastly we joined 2 square crystals together

I decided to go with the same colours the tutor had used in her original one and it turns out that the last colour was out of stock at the bead shop so hopefully it'll be in on the order that's due in about 10 days time so I can finish it.
