December Progress & January Goals

For December I said

Finish Fantasy Sampler No, but I knew early in the month I wouldn't make it and gave up trying
Finish Bigger Stash Done
Finish My Needleswork No, only got an hour's work on it
Finish the payed Birth Sampler Done
Finish something else I finished the Ruby card for my Parents
Stitch at least 2 ornaments Done
Stitch an ornament for Mel No, she has promised to nag me through the year to get the 2 I owe her done
UFO RR Done but mailed alot later than planned
Finish beaded Angel Box (WIP pic to follow later) The box has a few more rows left to do and I need to do the lid

For January I'd like to

Finish the Angel Box
UFO RR
SOLAK Square
Start all the new WIPs I feel like and not to feel guilty
A finish would be nice

In December I stitched for a taol of 92hrs 47 mins, had 2 new starts and 5 finishes

And overall in 2008 I stitched for a total of 1,110hrs 13mins with my best month being May (132hrs 55 mins but I was sick and didn't move off the sofa for almost a week) and I had 37 new starts and 31 finishes

So how did I do with my 08 Goals

And the answer is............ not that well

1, End the year with less than 30 WIPs (I'm starting with 41! Let me know if you want a list) I knew when I did a 6 month review that this wasn't going to happen and I have in fact increased them :(
2, Reduce my stash in some way (kits, charts or fabric, most likely to be fabric) even though I'm getting off the Wagon I would say that I broke even with fabric and increased the other by a small amount
3, Finish a large TW No, life got in the way of this one
4, Start and hopefully finish Tessellations Well I started it but then hit a brick wall when I made a major ooppps and haven't gone back to it yet
5, Get some ornaments done I did but they were all done in the last couple of months rather than spread out over the year like I hoped
6, At least match the number of SOLAK squares I did in 07 (which was 16) I failed this one completely and only did 5
7, Finish more than I start or at least have them even by the end of the year Again a complete failure
8, Not get sucked into any more challenges (SAL are OK) Yay I did one
9, Get off the wagon and stay off This one was a bit of a cheat really because I knew I'd keep it and would be able to say I at least reached one goal for the year


I've not done the adding up and double checking yet so I have no idea about my total hours for the year yet, that's a job for the morning when my brain is awake and more with it (and I don't have a rare glass of booze handy) but I will be putting the first few stitches in on my Jan 1st start at 12.01 while we watch the fireworks

November Progress & December Goals

For November I said

Make good progress on Fantasy Sampler (need to really if I'm going to finish by the end of the year) I barely touched it
Stitch at least one ornament I did 3
UFO RR No
Finish something No unless I count the 3 ornaments

For December I'd like to

I stitched for a total of 75 hours 22 minutes last month, November is always a bad month stitching wise for me with the Celtic Fair taking up a week of the month although I did think I'd done more with not having a puter for a week at the start of the month.
I had 4 new starts and 3 finishes all of which were new starts.

October progress & November goals

For October I said
Finish the Orchids Done
Make good progress on Fantasy Sampler Not as much as I hoped but I did finish the greenery border (pic when my puter is fixed)
Stitch an Ornament Done and mailed
UFO RR Done and mailed
No new starts other than the ornament It was tough at times but I did it

For November I'd like to
Make good progress on Fantasy Sampler (need to really if I'm going to finish by the end of the year)
Stitch at least one ornament
UFO RR
Finish something

October turned out to be a good month for me, I stitched for a total of 107 hours 11 minutes, had 3 finishes and 1 new start which was one of the finishes.

September Progress & October Goals

For September I said
Finish Oriental Orchids (need to do this one, all encouragement welcome) No but I did make good progress on it
Stitch an ornament No, once again I failed
Pick a new UFO for the RR Done, the joys of making sure you have one goals every moth I know I can reach :)
Birth Sampler I got a few hours in
Not start anything new unless I can finish it within the month or I have at least 4 finishes Totally failed this one, I started the LK flip it's while on holiday

For October I'd like to

No new starts other the the ornament

August Progress & September Goals

For August I said
Finish Oriental Orchids I barely even touched it
Finish my bookmark for the exchange and mail on time Done and it took 2 weeks to arrive! (call back later tonight for a pic)

Time wise I stitched for 84 hours and 47 mins, had 4 new starts and just 1 finish.

July Progress & August Goals

For July I said
Work on Oriental Orchids as much as poss (the one for the customer) Well I worked on it but not much at all
Work on the Birth Sampler I've done 5 hours
Settle on what WIPs I'll work on until the end of the year Done
UFORR No
I'm keeping my goals short for the month knowing that I will be moving at some point in July I moved on the 16th

For August I'd like to
Finish Oriental Orchids
Finish my bookmark for the exchange and mail on time
UFORR
Stitch an ornament
Birth Sampler

Considering I moved house I didn't do too badly last month. I stitched for 78 hours and 52 minutes, had 4 new starts and 3 finishes

June Progress & July Goals

For June I said
Finish the Garden Chair (bit pointless putting this really, the stitching is done and I start putting it together in the morning) And I did get it put together so this one is a definate yes
Finish my UFO from the SAL I finished her on June 19
Finish Cookie Dragon I finished him as well
Finish another WIP besides those listed above I finished Home of a Needleworker too
Only start something new if I can finish it before the end of the month ie SOLAK square No but in my defense of the two projects I started one only has the BS left to do and should be done July 1st and the other is for a customer of my LNS that I was asked to do after I set my goals

For July I'd like to
Work on Oriental Orchids as much as poss (the one for the customer)
Work on the Birth Sampler
Settle on what WIPs I'll work on until the end of the year

I stitched for a total of 85hours 22 mins last month, had 2 new starts and 4 finishes

And as we're now half way through the year I'm going to do a quick review on my year goals

1, End the year with less than 30 WIPs (I'm starting with 41! Let me know if you want a list) Not looking likely right now my current WIP total is 46, 35 would probably of been a better idea
2, Reduce my stash in some way (kits, charts or fabric, most likely to be fabric) even though I'm getting off the Wagon So far I'd say that fabric is in the lead, I've used just about as much as I've bought
3, Finish a large TW I'm working on this one
4, Start and hopefully finish Tessellations Unless I become a one at a timer this isn't going to happen
5, Get some ornaments done Haven't done a single one yet
6, At least match the number of SOLAK squares I did in 07 (which was 16) Working on it
7, Finish more than I start or at least have them even by the end of the year Yeah right, like that's going to happen
8, Not get sucked into any more challenges (SAL are OK) So far so good
9, Get off the wagon and stay off I put this one down because I knew I could keep it and I am doing

May progress & June goals

For May I said

As much progress as poss on the Garden chair Done, only had the seat cushion, seat base and parasol left to do and that was part done

For June I'd like to

Finish my UFO from the SAL
Finish Cookie Dragon
Finish another WIP besides those listed above
Only start something new if I can finish it before the end of the month ie SOLAK square

Time wise I stitched for 132hrs 55mins last month! I'm sure alot of that time comes from being ill early in the month and feeling extremely sick whenever I moved so I didn't get off the sofa unless I really had to. I had 2 starts (Fantasy Exchange project and Bigger Stash for my Birthday) and just one finish (Fantasy Exchange project).

As I said above the stitching part of Garden chair is done now and tomorrow I'll start putting it together, the card is already cut and I've stuck the batting on ready so first job tomorrow is to cut the pieces out of the fabric and iron them (after I've taken a pic)

April Progress & May Goals

I'm on time this month :)

For April I said
UFORR Done but I mailed a day or two late
Make progress on Birth Sampler Not much but any progress is good progress
Stick to UFO SAL I missed one week

For May
UFORR
Make progress on Birth Sampler
Stick to UFO SAL
No new starts other than my Birthday one and an exchange I'm signed up for
As much progress as poss on the Garden chair

Overall I had a really good month, I stitched for 102 hours and 18 mins which is way more than I thought it'd be
I had 3 new starts - Exchange piece, The Peacock and the Garden Chair
And 2 finishes - Be a Dragon and the exchange piece (I'll be posting a pic of that once it reaches it's new home)

March Progress & April Goals

A few days later than planned but at least I've remembered them :)

For March I said

Finish the Peacock Chair Yes and I'm really pleased with it
Make progress on the Birth Sampler I managed a little bit, he decided to arrive while I was working on it!
UFORR A little but not as much I'd like
Become a Gran Yes but it was a close call

For April

I stitched for a total of 78 hours 9 mins, had 4 new starts and 3 finishes and just one day with no stitching but I have a beautiful Grandson to show for that day

I had a pretty good month really considering how busy it was, I stitched for 89hrs 21mins, made 2 new starts and had 4 finishes and only one day with no stitching (the day I helped DD move)

January progress & Feb goals

A few days later than planned!

For January I said
Finish the Riddle No but I made good progress
Start all the new projects I want Yes, inc. a couple I didn't plan on
Try and work on a WIP or two Crimson Poppies and an old UFO got worked on

For Feb I would like to

Dec progress & January Goals

For December I said
Finish Floral Belpull Done
Finish The Riddle I changed my mind about this one and finished a few WIPS instead
Get an ornament done for my parents and DD Done, both ornaments came from my stock of stitched ones
Decide on Jan starts Done
Pick WIPs for first 6 months of 08 Done

For January I'd like to
Finish the Riddle
Start all the new projects I want
Try and work on a WIP or two

So far I've started on Tessellations and done my hour for this week on a UFO as part of a SAL, this morning I've been pulling floss to send out with Angel of the Morning that's off on her travels as my project for this years UFORR.
This afternoon when I'm home from shopping I'll be pulling floss ready to do a floss toss to pick fabric to start on Mermaid this weekend as part of a SAL on TWBB

2008 Goals

This year I would like to

1, End the year with less than 30 WIPs (I'm starting with 41! Let me know if you want a list)
2, Reduce my stash in some way (kits, charts or fabric, most likely to be fabric) even though I'm getting off the Wagon
3, Finish a large TW
4, Start and hopefully finish Tessellations
5, Get some ornaments done
6, At least match the number of SOLAK squares I did in 07 (which was 16)
7, Finish more than I start or at least have them even by the end of the year
8, Not get sucked into any more challenges (SAL are OK)
9, Get off the wagon and stay off

As for my 2007 goals I'd only really set myself one and that was to finish Dragonheart which I did on June 6
I had a really good stitching year in 2007 with a total of 1000hrs 15mins, 39 starts and 33 finishes
