Gifted Gorgeousness 2018 _ January

Scraping in as ever with a late post for GG :)

I decided this year in the spirit of working from stash as much as poss I would start on something that was at least a gift in some way and here it is.

This ones counts for GG because the silks were gifted to me many moons ago by the lovely Daffycat and it's high time they were put to use instead of sitting in a drawer

I guess I better tell you what the design is hadn't I although I'm tempted not to just to see if any one can figure it out!

It's Just Nan's Peacock Cypher and I'm using the lovely silk on a piece of Sparklies something or other from her mishaps, tests, odd sizes etc box

Gifted Gorgeousness

Gifted Gorgeousness is organised by the lovely Jo of Serendipitous Stitching
The idea is to get those charts, threads, fabrics we've been gifted over the years used and loved or to share those projects we are giving as gifts

First this month is my completed 4 Wishes, the chart & charms, fabric and some of the threads were RAKed to me many moons ago and inspired by GG last year I started it on my Birthday.  Models came in to be stitched and so it became a weekend project and finished a couple of weeks ago

That of course meant I needed a new weekend project and here it is before the start of the weekend.
In the post a DMC kit gifted to me by my fella Christmas 2014 and started on Jan 1st 2015, again put aside to work on models.

I had a busy weekend so didn't get to stitch much but progress as made

4 Wishes Happy Dance

Woohoo my first weekend project of the year is finished :)
Just Nan's 4 Wishes, started on May 16 2015 (my annual Birthday start) and finished 5 March 2016.

If you remember I made a mistake further up and one band ended up wider than it should of been so I had to add an extra little bit at the bottom to compensate for it hence the row of blue under the snowflakes for anyone that knows the design :)

Progress

First the fruit, the end is in sight at long last I've joined the last pieces of chart together now :)
Fingers crossed I'll be done sometime next week

And weekend progress on 4 Wishes, I didn't quite manage to finish it because I had to frog almost the entire left side of the border :(
I have band 20 left to stitch, the border the finish and then the beads & charms to attach

Progress

It's been a few weeks since I last shared the fruit but I did have to put it down to stitch the biscornu in my Gifted Gorgeousness post.
Most of this progress was made last week, being sick and barely having the energy to stand up at times had it's advantages.

And my weekend progress on 4 Wishes, the end is in sight and there is a tiny chance I could finish it this next weekend but I think it's far more likely to be the one after

Thank you for the well wishes over the last 10 days or so while I've been sick I'm feeling much better now but not at 100% yet and my voice is still a bit iffy hopefully in a day or two I'll be back to normal

A late Gifted Gorgeousness

Gifted Gorgeousness is organised by the lovely Jo of Serendipitous Stitching
The idea is to get those charts, threads, fabrics we've been gifted over the years used and loved or to share those projects we are giving as gifts

First is last weekends progress on 4 Wishes.
As you can see not much progress was made :(   a combination of having to frog the butterfly band so many times I lost count, having Teejay and his Mum arrive on Saturday and starting to get sick on Sunday all played their part but all progress counts.
Why is it a GG project I hear you ask ..... the chart, fabric and some of the threads were RAKed to me several years ago.

Sunday was opening day for the exchange organised at a meet up last year.
Julie sent me a dozen red roses :) there are 8 on the top and the other 4 are on the corners of the base

I went with Roses for my one as well only I changed them to yellow for friendship and Angie (no blog) tells me that yellow is her favourite colour for flowers

More 4 Wishes

Only a couple of bands and some border over the weekend.  I spent most of Saturday with a headache and wasn't up to stitching :(

In case you're wondering why there isn't a fruit progress pic for last week it's because there isn't one.  I've been working on an exchange piece all week and into this week but hopefully there will be a tiny bit of progress to share on it next week

Weekend progress

4 Wishes is coming along nicely and I've reached the halfway point so it's entirely possible I'll be finished by the end of the month :)

Weekend progress

I realized earlier today that I hadn't posted last weekend's progress on 4 Wishes!

I wasn't well on Saturday so didn't make as much progress as I'd hoped but that wasn't helped by making a mistake on the tulip band and having to undo almost all the flower heads to fix it.
There is still a mistake in it but it's staying in because I'd already done most the bits underneath when I noticed it so I'm claiming it as my Amish bit for this project :)

Weekend progress

4 wishes is coming along nicely and I'm hoping to get a couple of bans done this coming weekend as the next few are simple and don't require loads of colour changes

Gifted Gorgeousness

With having to work on the Lake District Sampler and Fruit Sampler last year my GG fell apart part way through the year but I've signed up again this year and I have weekend projects planned that will fit in until the fruit is finished :)

Gifted Gorgeousness is hosted by the lovely Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching and the idea is to stitch those projects that have been gifted to us wither it be a kit, a chart or using fabric/thread that was gifted.

My first GG project is Just Nan's 4 Wishes.
I was RAKed way back in 2008 with the chart, bead/charm pack, fabric and some of the DMC to stitch it was well.   Last year I made it my Birthday start and didn't get very far with it because the Lake District and fruit arrived.
I've made it my first weekend project of 2016 :)

This is as far as I got with it last year

And after it's first weekend outing, band 2 is finished and band 3 half done.
I'll come back and add the beads at the end

Gifted Gorgeousness

Hosted by the lovely Jo of Serendipitous Stitching Gifted Gorgeousness aims to get us to stitch those charts and use the fabric/ threads that have gifted to us over our stitching life.

This month I have 2 projects to share.
First is Elefante from AAN, it's my fella's Birthday present and I have actually finished but it looks like I've not taken a piccie of it so  you'll have to make do with a WIP Wednesday one from over a week ago.  I will get one taken in the week when he's not around

Next is the reason I'm a day late in posting :)

Today is my Birthday and every year I have a new start :)
This year I've started 4 Wishes from Just Nan, way back in 2008!!!! I was RAKed with the chart, accessory pack, fabric and some of the DMC for it so I've really not had any reason not to start it before now but I haven't!

Needlestory finish

I tried again this morning to get a decent pic of Needlestory and failed but I did manage to take not completely useless ones in sections

Mel's present is coming along really well and should be done by the end of the week yay and I've spent this evening working ABC Lessons while I decide what WIP to finish next

Things I meant to post and didn't

You know how it is, you do something take a pic and think I'll blog about that later and then you promptly forget or get distracted and it doesn't happen. Well I've done a fair bit this month so now I'm playing catch up.
Last Saturday I went to a friend's 60th Birthday party and as she had dropped hints about a beaded bracelet she'd seen me wearing I decided to make her a set.
This is basic Spiral Staircase with purple on the outside and a clear silver on the inside
Yesterday I went to Llandudno on a day trip with the WI, all these were taken on the pier

I've taken a pics of Mary Busby over the last couple of weeks and not posted them so I took one this afternoon knowing I was planning on posting tonight

Same goes for Needlestory, I have 4 more bands to do
